Comedy with a side of speed 11/8/2010

So, I used to go to the old Funny Farm in Startime and it was horrible! Mainly because I was worried I was in a horror movie everytime I descended the steps to the basement of a strip mall! Funny Farm is now located down the street inside Andretti Karting. Weird to see comedy inside a family fun center but it works! The tables are not as crowded together as other clubs and there isn't a stale smoke smell and the food is definitely better! The best part for me was after the show, the comedian was outside talking to fans and since we weren't ready to go home, we instantly had something else to do! The comedian actually got out on the track and rode gokarts with us and even played a game of skeeball with me (I won!) I am definitely a fan of this club and I strongly suggest you go OTP (I know, you're frightened.) and check it out. more

good stuff 4/17/2003

The Funny Farm is one of the most comfortable comedy clubs I have been to. The three times I was there was a lot of fun and the comics have always been good. Pros: clean, comfortable, fun Cons: hard to find more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Funny Farm's dinner theater atmosphere--complete with formal Victorian-style decor--is at odds with the club's generic bar food and its beer-themed wall art. Located in the Startime Entertainment complex, this suburban comedy outpost draws three to four different headliners in a weekend. The top bill might range from a stand-up novice to an Emmy-winning writer of a famous sitcom. Inebriated audience participation is almost expected--the assortment of good ole boys, couples and random dates can get rowdy as the drinks keep flowing.

    The Draw
Food, drinks and service is fast and plentiful, but that's not what keeps a regular crowd hitting the Funny Farm. It's the talent. Many on the lineup have appeared on late-night talk shows such as David Letterman and The Tonight Show and on networks such as HBO and BET. The bottom line, though, is that laughs will follow you all the way home.
