Fuji Restaurant

This was one of the worst dining experiances i have ever had. We had to park a block away because of the poor parking there. We had a 7:30 reservation We walked into the restaurant at 7:15 and was seated at 8:30. We ordered our drinks and received them 10 minutes later and during the meal had to ask for re-fills of ice tea and hot tea. We didn't get a cook until 9:05. This was valentines day and it looked like the restaurant had only 3 cooks serving all those hibachi stoves in that restaurant. The portions where small compared to (i won't mention the other 2 big hibachi restaurants in town). The prices where about the same as Benihani's and Shoguns. Service was terrible. The vegetables where sparce. The food was good if you still had a appetite. The first time i left a restaurant hungry. more

The food at Fuji was great, the prices for sushi were good. However, I called the restaurant several weeks after my visit and asked for a copy of my itemized receipt so I could be reimbursed by my company. The man on the phone was willing to help and got my receipt, but when I asked him to mail it to me (I live 1,200 miles from San Diego) he quickly said, ""We can't do that. That's not a service we provide."" more

My friends and I love this place. It is like Benihana's, but with better service and food for the price. The wait staff is very friendly, and I don't know what that person who rated this place one star was thinking. Not like I saw a bunch of mexicans, but does that person hate mexicans so she complained? I don't know. Anyway, to get seated without a reservation doesn't take a long time, but I would recommend a reservation for a big group. My husband and I love the fried rice here, ultra tasty. We have eaten at this restaurant about 5 times since we've lived in San Diego, and each time keeps us coming back. Highly recommended. Last year my family and I stumbled upon Fuji Steakhouse. We were trying to get into Benihana?s but the wait was 1.5 hrs. We saw Fuji Steakhouse on the way and decided to turn around and try it. My whole family was very surprised and impressed by the cheep prices and the high quality food and entertainment. This restaurant is very similar to Benihana?s where the chief cooks at your table and puts on a show while doing so. My kids loved the volcano, and the food is just as good if not better than Benihana?s but at a fraction of the cost. The staff was very friendly and attentive, we never wanted for anything. I would highly recommend Fuji Steakhouse to anyone who is looking for a great meal at an affordable price. There deserts are very unique and very good as well.
