Best

We went after a business meeting to decompress and were able to have a personal conversation, Happy Hour deals on beer, and a $4 appetizer of Hummus with cucumber, carrot, celery ...

Worst

OK, it's a cute name, a fun story of how some resaurant neophytes happened to put together this long-standing mediocre Rittenhouse institution. The food isn't bad, and I've never ...

great comfort food 9/14/2005

I am a big fan of Friday Saturday Sunday. Great comfort food for moderate prices. The food is fresh and healthy. I am not a big fan of the interior design (a bit tacky), but the service is great. They have a so-so wine list. The place gets crowded on weekends, so make sure you have reservations or you will waiting for a long time! Make sure to leave room for desert! more

A great date restaurant 8/20/2005

Friday, Saturday, Sunday is one of our favorite places to go for a romantic dinner. The food is very good, I highly recommend the cream of mushroom soup. The atmosphere is very romantic, the wine selection is good and surprisingly not too expensive, and the staff is laid back and knowledgeable. If you're dining down stairs, definitely have a drink in the Tank bar while you wait. more

Editorial
  • In Short
Quietly sitting on a corner near Rittenhouse Square, Friday Saturday Sunday is one of the city's few restaurant survivors from the mid-'70s. New American fare--earthy cream of mushroom soup and grilled Chilean sea bass--stand up well. Mixed greens with goat cheese and walnuts with tomato chunks provide starting points. Pate Maison replete with smattering of sliced cornichons is another longtime fave here. Other winners from the nouvelle offering include basic crab cakes with salsa verde and garlic aioli. A warm and welcoming vibe and decore culminate in a welcomed retreat from more flashy or stark newcomers.
