Fresh Market is a great small grocery store. In addition to pantry staples, they offer beautiful cases of fresh meat, lesser-known vegetables, and huge bins of grains, nuts and dried fruit. They have a fabulous deli, stocked with delicious prepared salads and dinner entrees, and a terrific bakery. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and it is a pleasant place to shop. more

High-end goods... 3/16/2006

Fresh Market, more than organic foods, focuses on selling high-end food products. There, you can buy milk in glass jars, expensive chocolates, and very fancy desserts. Though I don't shop there for everyday things, when I'm after a specialty item or have a nice dinner I'm buying dessert for, it's one of my first stops. They do carry chocolate soda, and they sell roses very cheap. Most days of the year they're $8/dozen with a wide selection of colors (prices spike, of course, for Valentine's and Mother's day). more

Organic and Specialty Foods 2/18/2006

The Fresh Market is a local North Carolina grocery with three or four stores in North Carolina, most in the Triangle area. The Fresh Market offers gourmet foods, like gourmet cheese, chocolate and salad dressing. They also sell both organic and non-organic produce, specialty items like granola and semolina in bulk and all natural baby food. Some Fresh Markets have a bakery and deli as well. more

The place to go for specialty foods 8/2/2005

Very nice selection of specialty foods and wine. They carry over 200 varieties of cheeses, from your typical Italian Parmesan Reggiano, English Blue Stilton Spanish Manchego, Dutch Gouda, and French Bries to some of the best American Artisan cheeses such as Grafton cheddars, Cypress Grove's Humboldt Fog and Midnight Moon. Wonderful bakery, meat counter, and seafood selection. Also feature a floral department and gift area. For those with a sweet tooth, make sure to check out their pastries and desserts, as well as their candy section. more

Not the best... 6/30/2005

The fresh market...is really just an overpriced harris teeter inmy opinion. At one time i remember the fresh market having fantastic fresh foods, and lots of organic and health conscious items. Now, i think its turned into just an over priced smaller version of your regular grocery store. Sure, you can shop in a dimly lit store with classical music playing...but does it make your groceries taste better....not really. more
