Highly Recommend It! 2/2/2012

Before placing our mother in an assisted living facility we did extensive research of most of the facilities in the general area. We chose Franciscan Court because it gave us everything we were looking for (large rooms, attached bathrooms, smaller population (she is 98 and did not want to be confronted with large numbers of people) It is a new building with pleasant decor and a very friendly staff as well as healthy, nutritious meals. The cost also was a factor and Franciscan Court can easily compete with other facilities in the area. She came to Franciscan Court in October of 2011. After a period of adjustment she is now settled and very pleased with her surroundings. We visit her everyday and have the opportunity to meet the staff and make note of how the facility works. We are very happy to see the dedication the staff shows. They are always friendly and eager to help. The owners as well, show a personal interest in the treatment of our mother. The decision to place an aging parent in assisted living is always difficult but it is very reassuring to know that we made the right decision.\r Thanks to Franciscan Court for your dedication to our mother!!\r \r Fred and Rita more

Review Franciscan Courts 1/31/2012

My Mom has been a resident of Franciscan Court for 1 ½ years. Mom is private pay and in a studio unit. She absolutely loves her room. I always hear how well the staff takes care of her. I’ve seen how the staff interacts with the other residents. They are always very polite and professional. The facility is very clean and well maintained. There are always activities for the residents to attend. Some of her favorites are bingo, bunco, crafts, live entertainment that comes to the facility and getting her hair done in the beauty salon located in the building. The food is very good and plentiful. Everything is made by the cook in the onsite kitchen. The owners were very helpful before my Mom arrived at Franciscan Court. They evaluated her, showed her the facility and where she would be staying. They made her feel excited about coming to Franciscan Court. The transition went very smooth and the staff made her feel welcome. The owners also assisted us in getting aid for my Mom. They had a person come to the facility and help us fill out all the necessary paper work. They also gave us contacts to check on the progress of her aid. This was a big help and timesaver. There is a lot to be said about a family run business. The owners are always around and they make everyone feel welcome. We’re glad we chose Franciscan Court. Keep up the good work! more

BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS 3/17/2011

BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS\r \r The review published by laurakozak is false and misleading. I would not publically speak about someone except the misleading and review published by Mrs. Kozak cannot go without and answer. Here are the facts about her mother and the situation she is describing:\r \r 1. Her mother's doctor ordered her sent to the hospital.\r 2. The emergancy room doctor admitted her mother to the hospital.\r 3. After a lengthy stay in the hospital, in consultation with the family and patient, Mrs. Kozak's mother was discharged to nursing home.\r \r No staff of Franciscan Court were responsible for any of the above decisions or were consulted about these decisions. The State Dept. of Health Care and Family Services makes the rules and regulations. Not Franciscan Court. It is the State rule that a resident enrolled in the Medicaid program and admitted to a nursing home must be discharged from the supportive living facility. The family can opt to pay to keep the apartment available during a nursing home stay. This family did not want to do this. They are blaming Franciscan Court for the nursing home admission and the rules of the State of Illinois. This is not true and the accusations are not factual. There was no hostility or threats made. more

Staff was so sweet! 3/10/2011

I'm not sure about the past reviews, but we recently put my Mom at Franciscan Court. We were really nervous about putting her in a facility, but Zach was so great about setting up Mom at Franciscan. The staff made it so easy to move her in and were so accommodating as soon as she got there. I think this is going to be a great place for Mom! more

BEWARE 10/21/2010

Wish I had read the above review 20 months ago - BEFORE being lied to and mislead by the staff. The theme seems to be preying on eldery who are borderline candidates for addmission to a supportive living facility by offering a wide array of care not every other facility will meet (IE; tranfer assist, bathiing assist) as well as boasting their helpfulness in assisting the family with the medicaid application process when the time arrives. When the time arrives, however be prepared for hostility, threats and avoidance. After months of dealing with that, our mom was ""involuntarily discharged"" by means of a manipulative, immoral working of the system THE DAY SHE BECAME MEDICAID ELIGIBLE - after paying them her life savings of over $80,000. ALso many charges for services not rendered still being contested. If you do not wish to lose your life savings and then become homeless RUN!!! more
