Francie Dillon Music & Story

Oh my goodness. I just saw the review from nyccaligal and had to put in my own two cents. Who on earth could that reviewer be? I'm guessing one of those people who you really, really wish would control their kids. Francie is absolutely wonderful. I took my granddaughter to the library for her singing storytimes every week for several months. Then Francie had other engagements. We missed her so much! She's back now at the Cameron Park library and my granddaughter can't wait to go. Francie is wonderfully patient with the children. I can only imagine that the negative review must have been from someone who's kids were disrupting the class - badly! I've observed Francie many time. She marks off her space with tape. When the kids inch over the tape, which they often do when they're exuberantly jumping up and down in time to the music, she gently (I mean gently!) reminds them to scooch back behind the tape. This is only practical. If some of the kids crowded up around her, the other kids wouldn't be able to see. She encourage the kids to move and sing. When she asks the group if they know what happens next, some of the kids get so excited they shout out the answer. I've only seen her praise the kids for their participation. I can't recommend Francie highly enough. She's amazing! more

This woman should not be allowed to work with children!!! She is a talented preformer, but has absolutely no patience to work with little ones. She preforms at the El Dorado Hills Library in Serrano on Wednesday mornings, where she publicly chastizes parents if their children ""participate"" too much. Better make sure your child doesn't run, sing too loudly or jump around in front of Francie! Or God forbid, go out of an arm's length of your person. OVER THE MICROPHONE, she will shell out free ""parenting advice"". Her words: parenting advice. ie. ""You were doing so good with her in the back of the room, why don't you return there?"" ""You really should gain better control over your child."" I would NEVER pay to see this woman preform anywhere! And the words I have to describe her are not suitable for print.\r \r Francie, I hope you read this. SHAME ON YOU! You're a nasty person. Children should be allowed to act like children. If you have a problem with toddlers, you shouldn't be hosting a TODDLER class. And by the way, keep your ""parenting advice"" to yourself!\r \r I've made a formal complaint to the Manager where she performs and hope she takes action to reprimand Francie and makes steps for her removal! She certainly doesn't deserve to be there.\r \r more

Francie is a delightful storyteller & singer who involves all in the audience inviting them on an imaginary magical ride expressed through her words and music. Her enthusiastic performances capture the hearts and minds of the participants allowing all to leave their cares & concerns behind while enjoying an uplifing musical and storytelling experience. She's an entertainer with a joyful performing style that works so well in front of children, adults and families. Her passion and gusto are truly contagious. more
