Fox and Hound

We've been to nearly every bar in North SA, and we keep winding up back at Fox and Hound. We've tried out Champps (closed?), Flying Saucer, Stone Werks, etc., but Fox and Hound is by far the most friendly. Good beer selection, competitive specials, great staff! We go to Flying Saucer once in a while for their beer selection, but you practically have to tackle a server to get her to notice you. Fox is our new home! My first time ,They asked for ID ,Iam over 35 y.o.a. I don't look under 21. The place smelled like a gym locker room. Will never go back. Cons: Bad Odor more

Visited this location over Thanksgiving. Sixty dollars later and four of us in our party all agreed that the drinks had no alcohol and the beers were watered down. And no, we are not alcoholics. Do not visit this location if you want a good drink. more

The Fox & Hound is great. Lots of TV's with several different sports. I've been going there for the past few years and its always been fun. Good crowd with friendly waitstaff, several different beers on tap as well as specialty drinks. Specials every night listed at the door( I guess the first reviewer didn't notice or bother to ask) The food is actually quite good and reasonably priced. Great for groups or after dinner drinks. We just returned from this restaurant this evening very disappointed to say the least. We were looking forward to going to this familiar spot all day.\r \r Firstly, we were not told of any drink specials.\r \r Secondly, (and I'm not kidding) the bar area smelled like feet.\r \r And most importantly, we confidently ordered burgers because this place consistently served some of the best burgers the city has to offer, but tonight it could'nt have been further from the truth. Our burger tasted mealy, not fresh at all, and seemed to be pre-fab frozen. Kind of like the tasteless garbage you get when you buy cheap brands of TV dinners. We took two bites (one for benefit of the doubt) and had them sent back. The waitress tried to seem genuine (""awwww, do you want something else?""), but not believable. And a manager never even came to our table to apologize. \r \r Perhaps the manager thought we were just college kids complaining, but the fact of the matter is, we all were employees of major hotels in the city and have pretty much taken this place ""off our lists"" for restaurant recommendations. What a shame, since this place was known for it's great burgers. Well, not any more.\r \r The funniest thing was, two of us at the same time said, ""This tastes like an IHOP burger"". Excellent customer service and friendly staff. Beer specials are really great and the food menu is good too. Try the Pesto Pizza, it's so fresh and delicious. They use a really thin, cracker crust, chicken, and a pesto sauce loaded with oregano, cheese, and other flavors. I have to say i have been to the Fox and Hound a number of different times. I love the staff. They have great drink specials on different days of the week. The crowd is young and hip, very close to UTSA. All around I loved it. I still wish I lived in San Antonio to visit it more frequently. Pros: great space, good service, great music more
