My typical groomer, Happy Tails on Coors is closed today so I searched local groomers just now. I read a review on Four Paws and it reminded me why I only had my dog groomed there ONCE. I am not accusing the woman who groomed my bichon frise of anything directly and didn't at the time, but I probably should have in retrospect. My bichon was brought to the groomer perfectly healthy. My son picked him up and brought him home and said ""Mom there's something wrong with his eye."" I didn't really pay much mind to it and said it was probably an irritation from the grooming around his eyes. Later my son became more upset and said You HAVE to look at his eye. To my horror, the white of one of his eyes was totally bloody. I called the groomer about it, she said she had no insight into that and it probably happened after he got home or left the shop. I took him to the vet and the vet said it was the result of TRAUMA, which he certainly did NOT experience since leaving the groomer. He thought it was either from a fall or a direct impact with an object. I was sick to my stomach. He recovered just fine, but the thought this place hurt my animal, whether intentional or not, is important enough to make public. I never pursued it. My dog was ok eventually and I couldn't have proven anything, so it would have been a waste of time and there is always the possibility it did NOT happen because of an event in the shop. I did not want to be unfair. So, simply, we have never gone there again, and never will.
