The Park 4/15/2006

Forest Park is one of St. Louis’ gems. Some people don’t really realize how amazing this park is. Number one, its huge and filled with lots of things to do. Number two, its just beautiful and so well-kept. Number three, they’re always having special events there. If you for some reason haven’t been, check it out. more

Beautiful! 11/18/2005

After moving to St. Louis for school, I couldn't belive that more people hadn't told me about Forest Park! In my mind it's such a draw, yet seemingly underused. If you go to Golden Gate park in SF in the summer you'd be lucky to find a parking spot, but in Forest Park, it's so large tha it never feels crowded. There are so many things to do, with the majority being free. The zoo is a gem, with free admission. We love to walk the dog along the miles of paths and watch people pay handball, softball, on the paddleboats, or picnicking. Such a great place! more

To the west of the park, it faces the prestigious Washington University main campus. As one of the biggest municipal parks in the country, Forest Park contains more than you would expect to find just minutes from downtown. The park contains paddle boat rentals, restaurants, two museums, the zoo, tennis courts, golf courses, and countless grass fields to play on. As most facilities are free, the park is an essential for any visit to St. Louis. more
