Best

Flo is an outstanding restaurant by any measure. For the relatively modest size of the restaurant, the menu is varied and the preparation uniformly superb. Pros: Broad, sop...

Worst

I think the food is good, but it's too expensive. The first time I came here, I told myself that I'd never...

good bellevue japanese food 8/10/2006

It took a while for Flo to gain momentum and popularity but I'm glad they made it! The food is always very consistent (consistently good) and the staffs are friendly. Parking is easy but the parking stalls in the building is really tight for larger size cars. Try sitting at the bar, the sushi chef makes some great and adventurous recommendations. Pros: Ambience good for conversation, prompt seating more

Wonderful experience 5/30/2006

I had a wonderful experience with my girlfriend. The menu was more origional than most japanese restaurants I've tried. The sushi was the freshest I've ever had, and actually set a new standard for fresh with me. The portions were perfect. I was fortunate enough to have enough room left for Chef Brandons salatious chocolate fondue. Pros: Staff, sushi, specials Cons: above average cost more

My favourite sushi place 5/3/2006

Words cannot describe how awesome the sushi is every time we've been to Flo. Their ikura, in particular, is the best I've ever had. The tempura is fresh and crisp, and their other dishes (e.g. tuna carpaccio, bacon-wrapped scallops, etc.) are also very delicious. They have a great sake selection too! Pros: Fresh sushi, Ambience, Service more

Good Overall Japanese 4/22/2006

Flo is a very good overall Japanese restaurant. Busy, pleasant, attentive waitstaff. The chef's choice we had featured some sushi, some sashimi, some cooked items... which was fun and pleasant. If you're a hard-core sushi fan, bite the bullet and go into Seattle to Shiro's. But if you want to stay on the east side and have a pleasant overall experience... some good fresh sushi, some good cooked items... with friends or business associates, Flo is a good choice. It's not a transcendent sushi experience, but it's a very pleasant choice: Recommended. more

Best Ever 2/2/2006

I've had sushi from BC to San Diego. Went to Flo last night. You know that part in the Big Night when the guy says something like, ""i swear to god, you take one bite..its so good you have to literally kill yourself!"" Yep - its that good. more

User review by astamp33 11/18/2005

Wonderful food, hands down the best fish and rolls in town (the Philly roll is heaven). Somehow my wife and I didn't find out about flow until a year or so after it opened, nowwe can not get enough. Very friendly service that is prompt and knowledgeable. Chef Wayne is fantastic, keep up the great work. Pros: High quality fish, Inventive menu, Service more

Best on the Eastside! 10/27/2005

My husband thinks I come here too much, but in my opinion, it's the best Japanese restaurant on the Eastside. I recommended Flo to a number of friends (along with trying the crunchy roll and macadamia nut crusted fish) and they are all loyal patrons now. The only thing that keeps me away is the hassle of finding a parking space (do not park across the street or you will end up with a $25 parking ticket!). Pros: great food, good service Cons: terrible parking, fairly expensive more

Best Sushi in town! 7/11/2005

I give a supreme grade for their sushi. Flo became my favorite Japanese restarurant in Bellevue; I think it is better than any hot restaurants in Seattle. I've been in food & beverage industry for over 10 years, specializing in fine dining and I think Flo is a gem. If you have high taste for sushi, Flo is a place to check out! Be careful though, you may get addicted. more

A very rare find in Bellevue... 7/8/2005

I travel a lot on business and it takes me to Japan. I've been fortunate to be able to taste true quality of food. This past week I stayed in Bellevue, WA. Asked the hotel for a recommendation and was told to check out Flo. So I checked them on CS. I admit, I hesitated after reading prior review, but figured if that person is use to eating supermarket sushi, they dont know much. I found it to be a great find! Service top notch. Hot food menu has a wide variety. The sushi was fresh and generous. It just shows, you can't compare apples with oranges. It's like someone eating supermarket sushi all the time and trying to be a food critic. This is the first time I wrote a ""review"" on CS, but I just had to write one for FLO after seeing what the prior ""reviewer"" wrote. Pros: Quality, Service Cons: Crowded more

Definitely not the best sushi Ive ever had 6/12/2005

The sushi wasn't very good, the rice they used was not sushi grade rice. It almost tasted like the kind that you buy from the store, very starchy, and wet. Ive definitely had better. more

Best-kept secret around 11/2/2004

Fun atmosphere, wonderful staff, and best of all - amazing food! I recommend the bento box for lunch... and this is such a fun place to go with friends - we do all of our birthday lunches at Flo! And what can be better than chocolate fondue for dessert? I know, it sounds weird, but it is the perfect finish to a wonderful meal Pros: great service, fabulous food more

Great Sushi in Bellevue 10/9/2004

My husband and I like to come here as often as possible. The service is excellent and the food is always brilliant, with beautiful decor and Garage parking. Just a relaly nice place to eat a meal. Try them for lunch. Pros: Food, Service, Ambience more

Hidden Japanese Fusion 7/17/2004

Sashimi and Sushi were fresh, good number of menu selection and service was outstanding. A little pricey but worth it. Pros: Service and Parking more

Gourmet Japanese in Bellevue 11/29/2003

Not a traditional Japanese restaurant. Flo's thoughtful menu is a treasure of gourmet Japanese dishes. It is best to order a few to several small dishes to share. The black cod miso was excellent. Sake selection is outstanding. Sushi and sashimi are top notch fresh. Pros: black cod miso, chawanmushi, sake Cons: pricey, small portions more

Good sushi, beautiful place 9/23/2003

I really liked the decor of the restaurant and the staff was very friendly. The unagi was ""melt in your mouth"" delicious! The only bad thing is the price. I know sushi is expensive, but I spent $24 and went home to eat something else to feel full. more

Finally, somethng out of the box.. 6/27/2003

I have been to most Japanese restaurants in the NW. I have to say, Flo's is ""out of the box"". To begin with the decor is not your traditional Japanese Restaurant, which I found refreshing. Yet, it held an essense this was an asian restaurant. Next, the main menu selections held most of your traditional Japanese items but the Daily Special List is where it got interesting. Good Sake list...wine not so. The service was above normal but not all perfect. But I must say, ""mama san"" was a hoot. She'll make you feel at home. Pros: decor, food, experience from norm Cons: hot (AC was not worki, food timing, wine list more
