Good Perch 11/7/2002

We like the Iron before Saturday Tribe games. PROS:3 of 4 of us always enjoy the big portions of fried perch, the 4th usually goes for pasta/burger with just a few complaints over past decade. It's easy to get in and out of this portion of the flats, I head down on Eagle Ave, to Columbus, to Canal, I think. The free patron shuttle bus to the Tribe game or to the Brownies is convenient. CONS The location needs a higher police presence, my friend had a windshield smashed in across the street when it was a free lot. It's always a pain jamming onto the shuttle after a game - there is only one shuttle, and that shuttle probably delivered 4-5 loads up to the game. Be seated downstairs if you can, sometimes the bar service upstairs is limited and the staff is surly, downstairs folks are quite nice. Pros: food, location, shuttle Cons: location, shuttle, upstairs more

Flat is the Key Word 10/2/2002

I'm glad this place had a decent atmosphere, because it has little else going for it. The service was very slow even though they were not crowded. Then the waitress managed to mess up two of our orders. The fish and chips platter was grossely overpriced at $15.99 and the fries were burned and the fish tough. Appetizers were so-so. I would recommend this place for a couple of nice Irish beers, but don't bother eating. Pros: good beer Cons: overpriced, poor service, food quality more
