The problem with most popular restaurants is that while they become famous for the dishes that they do best, new customers order something else and then complain that the restaurant?s popularity is unwarranted. Flappy Jack?s Pancake House is a good example. They offer the absolute, widest menu selection of All-American breakfast entrees ever offered in one restaurant location. These offerings include the traditional American breakfast plate of 2 eggs WITH thick bacon OR Canadian bacon OR pork sausage OR turkey sausage OR Hickory-smoked ham OR pork chops OR New York strip steak OR ground beef patty OR country-fried steak OR corned beef hash WITH homestyle potatoes and your choice of toast or 2 Old-fashioned Buttermilk pancakes. Separate breakfast entrees of Biscuits & Gravy, Cereal, Crepes, Eggs Benedict, French Toast, Oatmeal w/real cream, Omelets, Old-fashioned Buttermilk Pancakes, German Pancakes, Swedish Pancakes, Potato Pancakes, Skillet Breakfasts, Belgian Waffles, plain Waffles, and for lunch?soups, salads, hamburgers, sandwiches, and tortilla-wrapped sandwiches are also offered. ?Egg Beaters? or egg whites may be substituted for whole eggs for a small fee. And the choice of breakfast beverages include 100% Orange Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Apple Juice, Cranberry Juice, Tomato Juice, cold Milk, cold Chocolate Milk, hot Chocolate, hot Tea, and of course, hot Gourmet Coffee! Now, how many restaurants can compete with that? However, what they do BEST are the Old-fashioned Buttermilk Pancakes and the Belgian Waffles. Their pancakes are perfect?light and fluffy and taste so much better than the famous International House of Pancakes (IHOP) restaurants. Their Belgian Waffles are light and crispy with a slight, sweet taste, making them some of the best-tasting homemade versions I have ever eaten. The food here is generally good, with some entrees made better than others. The food portions are also very generous, so be sure to arrive with a hungry stomach!
Pros: Most entrees less than $10. Seniors get a 10% discount on all menu items.
Cons: Not enough waitresses to go around. Sometimes they forget you're there.
