Five Star Parking

DO NOT PARK AT 5 STAR PARKING GARAGE ON BROAD STREET, BETWEEN SPRUCE AND LOMBARD. I parked there last night, to go to The Nutcracker at The Academy of Music. This garage parks your car for you. On the way to Center City, I had stopped at a bakery to pick up pastries for Christmas. When I returned to the garage to get my car, I paid the lot attendant, then I noticed that a box of pastries was missing from my car. I told the attendant, and he asked me if I was sure it was there. I told him I would accept the $15 that I paid for parking and we could call it even. He called his suprervisor on the phone, who asked to speak to me. The supervisor defended his lot guys and told me that he basically didn't believe me. Nice way to run a business. more

I stayed here overnight and was basically ripped off. The night I arrived, I asked the attendant what the overnight rate was and was told $20. I let him know that I'd be leaving the next day around 1pm. I paid my $20 and was on my way. When I arrived the next day, my car was blocked in. The manager approached me and told me they wouldn't unblock my car until I paid an additional $16. I let him know what the attendant told me, and he brought the attendant over and the man said he never told me that - basically called me a liar. They laughed at me and just went and sat in their office until I paid the additional money. This place is a scam. Do NOT park here. more

The 5 Star Parking Garage on 7th Street south of Market and above Chestnut is awful. Park there at your own risk. The last time I parked here they had a sign that clearly said the parking garage was open until 10 pm. I arrived to get my car shortly after 8 p.m. only to find the garage lock up and I had to wait two days to get my car back out again. It may be one of the cheaper places to park in the city, but I would rather pay more for a 24 hour garage to know it will always be opened and my car won't get locked because managment decides to close early. PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!! Pros: Cheapest parking in area Cons: Might lock you out of garage before the closing time that is advertised on their signs. more
