I quit going to the local Wendy's (possibly the world's worst) after this place opened. Five Guys is insanely expensive, but the food is consistently good.\r \r The burgers are basically Wendy's burgers with better toppings. Greasy and delicious. \r \r The fries are the best fast-food fries I've had since the industry abandoned real fat and went with canola and peanut oil. The potatoes are not frozen, and they leave the peels on. They're oilier and soggier than they should be, and they have none of the delicious flavor of proper fries made in beef fat, but they're the best you can do without frying at home.\r \r Five Guys has a funny way of marketing food. They charge a king's ransom, and then they put the fries in a container too small to hold them. They add an extra scoop or two to the bag, so you feel like you got something extra. In reality, you're just getting what you paid for, in a container that isn't the right size.\r \r Needs a drive-thru, BAD. more

Reminds me of In & Out on the West Coast. Everything was fresh, it was inexpensive, clean, the cashier was friendly - great place! more

I took a harrassed bridezilla to this place for some R&R, and within moments of chomping down on her burger, she was a new woman. This, my friends, is the power of a burger done right.\r \r It may be that I am sentimentally attached to the location (having for years been a customer of Ming Garden, previously Sun Moon, an unpretentious, tasty Chinese restaurant), but this is the best of all the Five Guys locations. Parking is still a total hassle, as one jockeys for the 8 parking spaces in the tiny carpark behind; it now almost seems to be part of the experience.\r \r A normal burger comes with a double patty, and it will always be well-done. Being a medium rare kind of person, this took some getting used to, but now I wouldn't have it any other way. There are singles, but the double with your choice of toppings, is truly worth it.\r \r Also, save your money and order regular-sized fries. Staff generously scoop extra fries into your paper bag, and it's a challenge for two to eat them all, let alone one.\r \r Those with peanut allergies should stay well clear of Five Guys, since the burgers are fried in peanut oil, and there is a complimentary stash of peanuts in shells as you wait for your burgers.\r \r Love the upbeat vibe from staff as they work on your burger in front of you. Perhaps it's the stark lighting overhead, and the 80s soundtrack, but this Five Guys is what old-fashioned burger places seemed like, in THEIR eras, rather than the retro attempts that seem so cheesy today, in ours.\r \r Don't forget to check out which part of the State your Idaho Russet Burbank fries come from that day!\r \r ...at the time of writing, 27 people have voted, and the rating is at 100%. That level of consensus is unheard of in Miami, where no two opinions are alike or spoken in the same language. more
