Great fish store! Can't express how nice it is to see amazing selections of all types of fish and they are well cared for. You can see the associates care about the fish. They ask tank size and current tank residents to make sure they care compatible. more

Best Fishy Business Ever 8/24/2013

I am new to the reef tank world and would not go anywhere else for help, fish or supplies. I came to Fishy Business when I was first setting my tank up that my mom gave me. They helped me with testing my water, getting the plankton I needed and other supplies. I wanted to get fish right away but they suggested to wait and allow my tank to settle in and to get my levels right before spending money on fish. I followed their guide and everything has gone so smoothly. They are a wealth of knowledge, would rather test your water for free I might add, then to sell you fish that will not make it if your levels are bad. To me that is AWESOME service, even if you have to wait a little bit to talk to them. They are busy, but a little patience will pay off. Its refreshing to go into a fish store and not have them trying to just sell you something, they truly care about the fish and your investment. Love you guys! more

A Happy Customer 4/1/2012

I'm very strong in supporting small businesses, but also have high standards. These guys are just all round good and informal people. They know what they are talking about, the amount of information they have. I go about every other week. Take a look at stuff seem to always have new livestock in. Plus this place is fun to go look at the fish too. I'll definitely keep going back. more

He won't sell you anything you want because he genuinely wants to help you have the best tank you can. Best Fish Store 10/29/2011

What a fantastic fish store. We started going to Fishy Business a little over a year ago. Before Fishy, we were killing fish left and right. Doug, Josh, and Rich have saved my fish from my own stupidity. We now go there almost every week, sometimes 2-3 times a week. Great store, great service. You may have to wait a while for service because they are so busy, but they are worth the wait. Thank you guys for all that you do and making sure I have the best fish! more

My second time there and WOW great service, staff very knowledgeable and patient with a newbie. My friend was right a busy store but patience is so worth the wait as when my turn came they took their time and explained exactly what I needed to do and am excited about my new additions to my fish family. Some customers were a little impatient but let them go to the store with the dead floaters in their tanks. ( This one did not have any) I am new to the area and my friend refered me to the best store for my fish. I can not thank you enough a former fish killer. They all are doing great and thriving thanks to fishy business!!!!!! more

Do not buy anything from here! 10/3/2011

A snail was recommended to me to help clean my tank. I was told it would not reproduce. 3 months later, to my surprise I have hundreds of snails in my tank, clogging the filter, and taking over the tank. I clean the tank out, and get sick from snail parasites. more

Birthday suprise! 9/10/2011

I have known Rich for a while now, and I have to say he is a great guy. I met him when my son was turning 3 and he wanted a fish tank and some fish. Takota, my son, is my light.. But you see, I was laid off almost 2 years ago. So, I was not able to get him what he wanted. I was researching places to go so we would get the best fish. I usually kill fish that come from the other places, and we no longer had a tank or anything. I live in Brooksville and Fishy Business is very far away, but they seem to have the products we wanted to look at and get if possible. WE, Takota and I went into the store and met Rich. Rich let my baby hold a star fish in his hand and there was the most amazing look on Takotas face, almost made me cry. I told Rich what Takota wanted, and you know what, even though I did not have near enough money for it, Takota got what Takota wanted, thanks to Rich and his staff. Dead fish and a bad attitude 3/31/2011

We would visit Fishy Business every week when we where setting our tank up. On average the magic number was always $300 or up. That wasn't the problem though. We own a small business ourselves and understand that customer service is a must in today's economy. We purchased a $30 fish after spending a couple thousand in Rich's store and from the time we brought the fish home it was sick, wouldn't eat and wouldn't come out of hiding. The next day before we went to work we noticed it was dead. I called the store and spoke to the young gentleman who helped us often and I told him what had happened. He said no problem, get the fish out of the tank and put it in a zip lock bag and bring it in. The following day happened to be a holiday and he said to bring in the day after. So, we brought it in and him and Rich both said it had been beaten to death by other fish. By the time I got home and got it out of the tank the hermit crabs had been eating on him. New to Discus 2/24/2011

We went to the Fishy Business 3 times before buying our Discus.\r The first time we had questions with an injured Discus, best advise we recieved from any fish store from Daytona to Orlando. Very helpful, they are not pushy so if you have questions you need to ask otherwise they go about their business. When we finially purchased our fish again they were so helpful the owner spoke with me at great lenghts to answer all my questions. (Being new to discus and having had problems I had questions!) Very understanding gentleman. I got two discus and they never stressed and ate the same night and have not stopped. They are very active and alert to the surroundings. I am very happy as I have tried discus from a couple other stores and I will now drive the hour to get now only my discus but all my supplies from "The Fishy Business" Thank you for the help and support!!!! more

The best selection in town, however the customer service could be a bit better. They are very busy on the weekends, and getting assistance can take a little while. The owner can be a bit harsh. If you are looking for a good variety, at fair prices then it is definitely worth a look. more

been to a lot of fish stores in the area and fishy business definitely had the best selection of fish by far, and all very healthy looking. the employees were great and helped with suggesting quite a few options for the tank. hopefully i wont need to be going anywhere else from here on out. more

Don't spend your money or time. 12/5/2010

Customer service was horrid. No acknowledgment when entering the store. Younger guy was eating an would not even turn around to see who entered. Heavy set fellow sat on a stool, never showed any intrest in being helpful. Asking simple questions about water qaulity and testing incite hostility in this man. The only people that said hi as we entered the store, were the panhandlers out front. more

great fish, great staff. always manage to find something i need. and to the below comment..........i believe they make algae control products specifically for summertime, the only time when algae blooms are a problem in a pond. i have used such products many times, and as long as the dosage is right with enough water flow, never heard of a problem. more

Fish Killer!!!!! 9/9/2010

We had a small problem with alge on our koi pond. The owner Rich sold us a solution to kill the alge. We followed the directions to the letter. Killed both our Koi which we had raised from babies and had for 2 years.\r Other fish stores told us Never, Never, Never use the product expecially in the summer when oxygen is low. I would highly recommend avoiding this "fish expert" at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!\r Mike more

I have known the owner, Rich, since he first opened the original Fishy Business in the plaza at Howell Branch Road and 436. I believe it was in the late 1970's (perhaps 1978 or 1979). Over the years, he moved the store to Mongomery Road in Longwood, then to a plaza on 434 in Longwood and finally to it's present location. Throughout this entire time (more than 30 years), he has always treated people honestly and fairly. He carries top-quality merchandise and livestock and keeps his prices as competitive as he can. In today's world, many retailers opt for the "quick buck". Not Rich. He prefers long term satisfied customers.\r \r Whether you are into Salt Water (Reef, Fish Only or both), Freshwater or even brackish, Rich and all of his staff will do their best to help you. There is not a better Aquarium shop to do business with anywhere. more
