I go to Fish all the time and the fish is not the reason i keep coming back. It all seems to come back a little overcooked and somehow loses its flavor. In a word, uninspired. The horseradish crusted salmon is pretty good (if you like it well done) and they'll serve any fish they have in that manner. The big standouts at Fish are the Oysters, they have a small selection but some favorites are always on the list, Malpeques, Spinney Creeks, Kumamotos and the standard Blue Points, (flavorless, spend the extra 50 cents for a Malpeque). Average price is 2 bucks, crazy but that's NY.\r
Other standout is their Burger, made with Ottomanelli's beef from directly across the street, (you can wave to the butcher as you chow down) it's served on a soft bun with tomato, lettuce, a special sauce (perhaps a hint of Old Bay?) and thickly sliced pickles. Surrounded by some really tasty, crispy fries. If you order it medium, you'll get it back pretty pink, medium rare and we're talking red inside, so be warned if you like overcooked burgers.\r
Other goodies are the fried oysters, clams (whole not strips), the beer's usually very fresh, the casual atmosphere and pretty friendly staff. \r
It's a great place for frieds to gather, not the best for kids, maybe early... Sit at the bar and you'll get fast but maybe not the friendliest service in the world. There's a great table at the front for people watching and a bunch in the back for a cozier feel below the skylight. But don't bring a first date, it's not the most romatic place in the world, unless pictures of large fish held up by gross men does it for you.\r
Pros: oysters, burger, beer, atmosphere
Cons: not the best fish
