A great place to shop for pets and supplies but it is almost like they do not even care what you do with the animals. As in pick them up and things like that.A great and underpriced place to shop at.Terrific with the info they provide. Very resonable unexpensive prices. I am amazed with their animal selections. Small or not, the have more to pick from than any of the pet stores in texas ive ever been to.I plan to buy a guinea pig there. more

Notice To all existing & Future Customers I been going to Fish and Chirps for over 30 years. Well I will not step another on foot in that store again or recommend it to anyone ever. I purchased several things from then one being a training collar. I got it home tried it on my son lab puppy. We got into a disagreement I left my house for class. Well my son took tags off of collar. I went to Fish and Chirps to exchanged it. I had both tags and the receipt to the training collar that had been removed. The clerk would not not give me credit on the collar because the tags had been removed. Even though I had them and they could easily been placed back on with tape. I admit I did raise my voice I had a right to I believe cause this was stupid and poor customer service. Soooo BEWARE IF YOU SHOP THIS PET STORE THEY HAVE VERY VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.....AND ARE NOT WILLING TO WORK WITH YOU. more

I went to Fish and Chirps to purchase pet rats. When I went in, I was asked if they were going to be pets or feeder rats - - and they were purchased as pets. more

I would have to say that Fish N Chirps is the best pet store in Denton I hate having to go to petco or petsmart for fish, because petsmart don't care what happen to their fish and just leave any dead fish laying in the tank. Petco has very small selection of fish. Fish N Chirps is the best place to buy your fish the only down fall is that they are a little over priced, but all of their fish that they have for sale are very healthy. Every fish that I have bought from them haven't died or gotten sick. I have read many comments about people saying that the fish that they have gotten from them have died, I think that they just probably just dumped the fish straight out of the bag and into the tank with out acclimating the water temperature and therefore the fish goes into shock. The other day my father and I went in to buy another cichlid for my cichlid tank. I bought a Bumblebee Cichid which they had for $19.99 so later I got home and looked up the price on liveaquaria(dot)com and had them for $7.99 which is way cheaper. So everybody that say Fish N Chirps has bad fish and they don't take care of them, they should do some type of research about what type of fish you are getting or you can ask them I have NEVER had a single problem with buying fish from them. more

i really like to patronize small businesses rather than petco or petsmart, but this pet store will not be receiving any further business from me. after 8 days, my $13.00 fish died after one of the owners (dan) had confirmed that the fish was healthy and had been there for months (the other fish i purchased that day is still around though, so this isn't a pond disaster). in any event, the other owner (mark) would rather have a bad review than work things out with their customers...so here we are. talking with them on the phone is an unpleasant experience as well. save yourself some grief and buy your fish elsewhere. even petco credited me for a bad fish that developed anchor worms after 20 days. before you buy anything, make sure you have a clear understanding of the shop's policies regarding sick or dead animals. more

This shop has been around for a while. they have fish food and can order what i need or what id like to buy when i come by for refils. Great local petshop in denton! more

Fish-n-Chirps by far is one of the most helpful pet stores I have ever been to. Highly recommend them over any other place that i have been to and i have been all over the DFW and worked for a few. If u want a pleasant experience this is the place to go with the most personal one on one customer service if they don't have the answer they will be more than happy to find it for you. I used to shop there until I started purchasing fish. They have bad quality of fish. Very overpriced. I called them to ask how much a bicolor angel would be they told me 60 or so dollars and i ordered it online for 25 dollars same exact thing and with a 2 week guarantee which fish and chirps does not provie on any salt water fish. Everything is so overpriced. Unfriendly staff. Tanks for salt aquariums are always empty. They only care like 1 fish or each thing nearly. I dod not feel my past expierences have been good and dont plan to go back. I as well bought an iguana from there and within a few weeks it was sick even after proper care. I called up there and they told me oh you must have got a sick one and they asked where i got it from i told them from ya'lls store. That turned around to a diffrnet excuse. the 1st time i went here it was way cool, the fish and variety of them were plentiful. i was there for the fish, being a beginner at it and all. the employee there took the time to point out the pros/cons of salt/fresh water tanks. and the different types of fish. aggressive/non-aggressive fishes being in the same tank and the time and care involved. needless to say i grew out of the fish stage after 14 months...lol. now i am in the snake stage, way cool. these guys are very knowledgeable about the snakes as well. I have not met an unfriendly employee at this store yet, and they all take the time to help out and ask if your in need of help when they walk by. I never feel like i am intruding or being snowballed( i do look on-line and check out what i am told ,though. doesnt everyone?) and i always leave the store knowing more about the animals/pets then i did before i came in. I have already recommended this store to some co-workers/friends. it is a much better atmosphere then pets mart or petco . just my opinion of course. I loved this little store!!! Some of the kindest people I know and so full of information!!! They were so nice they had great prices and they even helped me out to my car with the dog food!!! Can't say that about many pet stores!!! Oh I just really loved that little pet shop! I would certainly advise going there for any pet help you need! Awful! They are not truthful and mislead people into making bad purchases then do not stand behind their products. They also tend to charge for things that you haven?t purchased. Lastly and very importantly they are extremely extremely OVER PRICED! Pros: THAT THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY PET SHOP IN DENTON Cons: OVER PRICED. SICK ANIMALS. ARROGANT EMPLOYEES. OVER CHARGE.
