So thankful I found First Choice walk in! 2/6/2014

I called the office after having chest pain and told by primary to go to ER for an X-ray. I opted for a walk in instead knowing they have equipment to do same as hospital in my situation. I was nervous and when I called the nurse was so kind I immediately drove over. I was met by a valet which was amazing- we all know what it's like looking for a spot when sick! When I entered the staff was welcoming and actually seemed to like their jobs. They made sure I got the care I needed and diagnosed my illness taking the time to make me comfortable and even laugh at my silly anxiety induced jokes. I have never felt that good leaving a doctor office- he and his staff are my new primary care office. Go there- you will not be disappointed! more

Great place for walk-in care! 5/2/2011

Good: Good doctors, short wait time. They can do do X-Ray and blood-work on site. Most doctors are board certified for ER or internal medicine and been practicing for years so they really know what the are doing. No appointments required. Been there over a dozen times since I moved to NY.. Bad: Old waiting room was dingy. I believe moved recently to a new location a few miles away.. Improvements: Website is useless.. more

First Med great in an emergency 2/6/2011

This place is great if you have a true emergency. They even take some insurances. They have blood & xray right in the facility. Results are quick. The staff are extremely efficient and pretty nice. However, if you get Dr. Vishnoy, watch out! He is rude, abrupt and will not spend time with you. The staff there called me for a followup and I was able to get another doctor to represcribe another rx. Other than that doctor, the experience was great. That doctor, however, should be fired. He doesn't seem to want to be bothered with patients, so why is he there?! more

Dr. Tenneri -not so good. 10/6/2010

she missed diagnosed my child because she didnt want to give an xray. She claimed the radiation is not good. BUT IN AN EMERGENCY WHO CARES!! 2 days later ran back and a male doctor put her on antibiotics,,, and was very thorough examining and reading the urine and blood work. more

i do not want to give even one star 8/23/2010

The staff is rude, snotty abrupt and miserable. They in turn will drag you down with them. It is the last thing one needs when they are not feeling well. If you can go somewhere else, i recommend that you do. more

Wasn't very happy at all 2/23/2009

I went there a few days ago because I have been sick for a while and was having trouble breathing. I wanted them to see if there was anything they could do to relieve the pressure in my chest. The nurse was very pleasant and seemed to understand what I was saying. The doctor, on the other hand, seemed very rude and was in a rush to move on. He pretty much told me to stop complaining because it could always be worse. I left feeling no relief and uncomfortable. If you have no choice, go there..but I would recommend the other first med in queens over this one any day!!! more

Ann Marie 6/23/2008

This is a really great place to go for almost any type of medical care. I've go there for a fractured ankle, and heart palpitations. both were treated promptly and with excellent care. 1st med made an appointment for me with a cardiologist the next for the next day. I would highly recommend 1st med to anyone. more

Great place if you don't want to spend the money or the long time in the Emergency Room at your hospital. 1/3/2008

I went to the Emergency Room and was told that my wound was minor and that they wanted to charge me $1k for stitching up a cut on my foot and taking x rays. Since I don't have insurance I decided to leave. The next day when I changed my bandage, I noticed that the cut was worse and decided to look for a doctor to treat my deep cut. So I called around to local GPs in the area and was generally told that I would have no choice but to go back to the Emergency Room b/c GPs don't stitch. I then called a local plastic surgeon's office and was told that they can't help me and to look for an Emergency care clinic on the web. I was glad that I did because I found First Med on the internet and called. They told me that the cost of caring for the wound would be about $250, a quarter of the cost of hospital treatment and probably a lot less time. I went and waited about 45 min before I was treated. Staff was extremely pleasant and professional. The facilities are great even though slightly outdated. When I was brought in, the nurse cleaned my wound and then the doctor stitched up. The doctor then gave me antibiotics, instructed me to come back in 2 days to remove the stitches and 10 days to follow up visit. The $250 includes all the visits, the treatment and the meds. Even if I went to the Hospital I probably would have to pay for the meds and maybe follow up care and wait ridiculous long hours. First Med is a great place. I highly recommend it and am so thankful for their care. If I didn't find them I probably would have a badly scarred up foot. more

A great place to go if you dont want to go to a hospital 8/16/2005

This is a small but good place to go for minor emergencies if you dont want to go to a hospital, and are not seriously injured. People go for everyday things too. BUT there is, most times, a very long wait. They will take more serious cases first. They do not take all insurances so call first to make sure they take yours. The staff are very snitty, and not happy people at all, but the doctors are ok. It is very hard to get parking because they have a tiny parking lot that they share with other businesses. more

Great emergency care clinic 6/22/2005

We unfortunately had to use this clinic a couple of times in the past two years. Once, when I scratched my cornea and once when my husband had an awful ear infection. Both times we were unable to go our normal dr's office. The first time I really had no choice and had to go as soon as possible because of the severe pain in my eye. Yes, I did have to wait quite a bit but it was worth it. The doctor was great and treated me with the best care. The second time my husband had a little leeway with his ear pain. We called in advance and were told there was no one was in there at the moment so he rushed over and was treated immediately. They treated him so well , prescribed medication and he was much better even after one hour. If you find yourself without a doctor on the weekend or late at night this place is a good alternative. more
