Local watering hole featuring interesting art above heads and ingenius booths with walls that lift up making an automatic table for 12 in the middle of the room and there are three like it! Lots of beers on tap and decent, though not thrilling Angus burgers. Service is always a tad slow, but when I go to the fifth, I'm not going anywhere fast. more

My 3rd place 9/16/2008

I consider the 5Q as my third place just behind work and home. I can sit back in the patio with some friends and enjoy a backgammon game while drinking some of the best beer in town. The C-note is something to behold. Grub is satisfying for a simple pub. Best thing is that I can enjoy all this with my dog. Remembeer, beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. more

Good food. Worst service in the history of service. 6/23/2008

Can you criticize service if you didn't really have any? I recently walked into Lompac on Williams. There were probably no more than 15 patrons in the restaurant. I'd been there once before and had so-so service, but decent food. This time we sat there for 20 minutes, right by the bar, and not a single employee so much as smiled at us. The bartender, a completely disinterested woman in her late 20's, was far too busy text messaging to look up and see that we were becomingly increasingly agitated. Finally, we all just got up and walked out without saying so much as a word. Another server walked behind the bar and both of them watched our party walk right out the front door. Not to worry though, because the bartender went right back to text messaging. There are places I'm willing to try a few times to give them a fair shake. This isn't one of them. My friends and I are lost customers to Lompac and the 5Q. Pros: Decent food, good beers and wines, reasonable pricing Cons: Good luck experiencing the 'pros' if nobody ever comes to your table. more

Bad service! 5/2/2008

We've tried this place 4 times, and the service has never been good. On our last visit we waited 20 minutes for a server to take our drink order. 2 tables came in after us and recieved drinks before our order was even taken. When we flagged down one of the servers and requested some beers, she said, ""i'm sorry, you're not my table."" A few minutes later our actual server showed up and said, ""I'm sorry guys, I forgot about you"". more

Great Food & Beer....LOUSY sevice 4/20/2008

Well, first, I live within spitting distance of the place but that is not to say I want anything but standard service; no special treatment needed here! Problem is that when they are busy(ish), if you arrive and take a seat, you are ignored for about 15 minutes...not cool. The waitresses will look at you several times with a seemingly rude glare. The menu is fabulous for a brewery and by the time you are drooling over it, the waitress is still not there. Once arrived, they typically want to take the whole order at once in a rush. QUICK this and QUICK that. You MUST create a vibe with them and be nice or it is as if you are bothering them. Weird but true. Now, I have had many other people tell me the same thing so I am tired of recommening a place for friends when it turns out to be a less than stellar experience and always the same issue. Pros: Food, beer, and the decor Cons: Wait staff as present as ghosts. more

Awesome service! 2/25/2008

I have heard a few bad things about the service, but had dinner last night and it was stellar! Pros: Service, food, yummy beer Cons: Not a fan of kid friendly places, but mellow kids left right when we arrived more

Great Pub, Great Food! 12/14/2007

After giving up on all the NE brew pubs with mediocre to terrible food, we were thrilled to discover 5th Quadrant (note: it's really hard to find you guys on City Search since you spell out 'Fifth"" unlike your sign which uses the number). The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the servers are down to earth and accomodating, everything we've eaten there has been terrific from burgers, to Pork Piccata (fabulous!), to Red Snapper. My husband loves the beer selection and I adore the Grapefruit Lemondrop cocktail. There's plenty to choose from - the menu selection is fantastic. This is a wonderful addition to the Williams Ave scene! Pros: Food, Drinks Cons: Smoking on back patio more
