Field of Dreams Movie Site

Coming to see the field is a great 1/2 day or all day event. Once a month in the summer, they have the Ghost Players come out onto the field to play some ball with audience participation. Kids can go up and wait to bat and the show these guys put on is phenomenal. I've seen it twice and haven't been disappointed. They are outrageously funny. more

I list THE FIELD OF DREAMS as one of my all time favorite movies. Not only does it have great stars, a wonderful storyline but it also has great scenery....most of it shot right here in Iowa! This field is a step back into time. Though it is a mere farm field turned into a baseball field/movie set, the magic of a movie and a heart touching story still lingers so many years later. This site is very simple but nice. though the original field has been cut down a bit to allow for planting it still has the feel of the movie there and visitors can experience it firsthand. There is also a small gift shop where you can purchase cute "mementos" from your visit. If you are in the area, take a detour, ask directions or simply point your car in the general direction....after all it is THE FIELD OF DREAMS.....a place where movie magic was made! more

This is the actual movie set used in that 1989 hit movie, “Field of Dreams” with Kevin Costner. Be sure to watch the movie before you go to the actual site. It is really cool to get to see this. It is outside of town. When you come to the two driveways, take the further of the two. This is the location with the house you see in the movie. more

The movie was great and now you can visit the baseball diamond yourself! You can visit the Langsing family’s farm and see the field and house that was in the movie in 1989. You can go hit a few on the field with bats that are provided. There are two souvenir stands to purchase shirts and hats at the Concession Stand. A must is the “Is this Heaven? No it’s Iowa,” saying on a shirt. more
