Our weekend ritual 7/15/2005

Fat Albert's has become a weekend ritual of ours ever since we moved into Moreland. If you are a coffee drinker, you won't be disappointed. Your coffee cup will be refilled before it's even 1/2 way empty, guaranteed. Kim's Fave omlette is absolutely delicious. Fresh avocado, bacon, cheese, and homemade salsa...mmmmm! My party of three was enjoying an average breakfast experience on Saturday. We finished our meals, plates were cleared and coffees were refilled. Approximately 5 minutes later the waitress approached the table, placed fresh silverware and menus on it, and abruptly told us to leave - saying it was their policy to ask parties to leave when it's busy. That's good and fine - the menu points out this policy - but perhaps some manners can be used? I was very unimpressed by this classless tactic - there are far too many good places in the Portland area that this place has no place on my list of places to eat. Pros: Many coffee refills, Average grub Cons: You're done?, Get out now!, I said get out! more

Long wait but well worth it! 6/3/2005

Weekend mornings are bustling at Fat alberts who's cute slogan is ""a waist is a terrible thing to mind"". Great Omelettes and the biscuits are wonderful with the raspberry jam found and every table. I keep on going back again and again. Not only are their egg dishes nicely prepared but they also have great breakfast speecials that I've never been let down on. Just be warned that the wait could be a while and it is Cash and checks only! Pros: food, wait staff Cons: parking, long wait for seating more
