In our nation's northeast corner lies a place of austere beauty. Here, the light shines differently. Through artists' eyes, it is a wondrous land; by the artist's hand, it has become a destination. Recognized as one of the finest regional art museums in the country, the Farnsworth collection of American art focuses on art created in or inspired by Maine. Hours: WINTER/SPRING: Jan 2-mid-June, Open Tues.-Sun., 10am-4pm; closed Mon. except Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Patriot's Day and Memorial Day. SUMMER: mid-June-Columbus Day, Open Daily 9am-5pm, Wed.-Fri., 10am-7pm. FALL: Columbus Day- Dec. 31, open Tues.-Sun, 10am-5pm Closed Mon. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Farnsworth Homestead and Olsen House open seasonally. Admission: $10adults, $8 seniors, $8students 18 and over. Free to Museum members, children under 18 and Rockland residents more
