This is one of the most famous toy stores in New York. It has a huge assortment of games, toys , books and collectibles. At the entrance, the toy soldier greets you into the color...

Worst

We visited F.A.O. Schwarz yesterday as part of our annual treck to go visit the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center. We haven't been here in years. I think they closed down...

It's not a trip to NYC without a visit here. Go live out your Big fantasies and play the floor piano. You know you want to. more

Pricing outrageous ... but it's FAO Schwartz 9/5/2011

I took my niece and nephew to FAO Schwartz for the first time. Although it was expensive, the experience was great. They loved the enormous stuffed animals and the giant piano! Even though we only walked out with a small teddy bear and a small lion, the time we spent there was great. Could not have picked a better afternoon with my two favorite people. more

A tab pricy, but worth it. 6/17/2011

Quality ain't cheap and I wanted to get my grandmother something excellent for New Years and she just adores stuffed teddy bears. She's been collecting them since she was my age. She's also really picky so i'm glad I came to the right place because the toys here are just wonderfully made. I also got my little brother a giant stuffed dinosaur while I was there. He sleeps with it every night. :] more

Paint Your Own Pottery in FAO Schwarz! 10/25/2009

Just discovered this very cool Paint your own Pottery studio inside FAO Schwarz! I knew FAO Schwarz hosted many customized toy experiences, like Make your own Muppet or Make your own Barbie... but I was pleasantly surprised! It's the most affordable experience with the most versatility. Can't drink coffee out of a Barbie! Love FAO Schwarz and love this studio. I'm hoping to book my sister's birthday party in this space. Pros: Family oriented, fun, hands-on, do-it-yourself Cons: Week to wait more

Make Pottery Studio in FAO Schwarz 10/25/2009

I just spent a fun afternoon at FAO Schwarz. One of the highlights of our trip was stopping by the Make Paint Pottery Studio right next to the Big Piano. My and my little girl both painted. It was a fun memory we will share forever. Also a highlight was the fact that we could get both pieces shipped home to LA and not have to worry about carrying them around the rest of the trip. Highly recommend this and can't wait to see the finished pottery.\r Pros: Fun experience in a toy store Cons: Non more

Sad Experience - Not the FAO Schwarz of Old 4/10/2006

I haven't been to FAO Schwarz since they remodled it. Let me assure you that this isn't the famous FAO Schwarz that everyone loved. Now, sadly, it's more like a Wal-Mart. Gone are all the very creative theme rooms for the Star Wars and Barbie toys. They have been replaced by sterile white walls. They took out the giant robot elevator. After FAO Schwarz went bankrupt and then remodled, they clearly cut back expenses on all the things that made it magical. I highly recommend you don't waste your time. It pains me to say it, but go to Toys R Us in times square. You'll be better off. Pros: toys, giant stuffed animals Cons: no creativity, sterile, like Wal-Mart more

This is an AWESOME place!! 3/25/2005

You cannot miss this Toy Store in New York City. Now is newly renovated with an amazing lighted ceiling, a super huge plush collection and many many more toys. The employees are really nice and helpful. It has a concourse level with games, action figures and sport toys. The FAO Schweetz ice cream parlor has a wonderful dessert variety. And the dolls upstairs are simply breathtaking! You and your kids will have fun playing in the Big piano and riding the simulator. Pros: Good location, Fun, Nice employees more
