this is another one of those New York places that will never die. As a par and pub, I like it quite a bit, even if it seems to have more of that "men posturing for the benefit of each other" vibe than I really know what to do with. They have a small room in the back that's more for dining, but it doesn't have the atmosphere of the bar, so stay in the front if you. This place gets crowded easily, so plan accordingly (i.e., arrive early, or go off nights), but is a great warm stop during winter shopping.
