Family Health & Fitness is a nice facility. They have a lot of equipment so that you don't have to stand around and wait for a long time for a particular piece of equipment. The layout is really nice too. The free weights and weight machines are all downstairs and the cardio training is all upstairs. Another great thing is that they have an indoor heated pool, which the YMCA does not have. My wife also likes the fact that they have a separate women's area so that the women don't have to feel as if they are being ogled by the men. They also offer childcare.
The main negative is the pricing. They do not advertise their pricing and when you inquire about it, they make you set an appointment to talk to a salesman. They do not have a price sheet that they can hand to you. They just write a bunch of stuff on a piece of paper and make it sound like you had better do it right then or the offer will expire. It is pretty ridiculous. The other thing that is not good is that they do not offer a month-to-month membership. You have to agree to at least a 6 month membership.
