Faina European Day Spa

So it's my first spa week and i'm super excited. I get to spend a lovely evening with my fiance and pay $50 for great massages. I got the Aromatherapy body scrub & massage combo special they offered and my fiance got the European body massage.\r \r I was taken into a small room by a sweet woman who did an awesome job with the scrub. I was beyond relaxed and she made me feel really comfortable. She then set up the hot shower for me (which felt amazing after the invigorating scrub) and left the room. I laid down awaiting my lady to return to me. Around 5 minutes, I hear a knock letting me know she has returned...but instead of a she it was a HE. Now, i'm not a feminist or what have you but I would have liked to be forewarned that my massage therapist would be a man and not the woman that did the scrub or another woman for that matter.\r \r He begins the massage and I try to just go with the flow. He then starts kneading my back and I feel like i'm just about ready to jump the hell up and lea more

I'm a little late in writing this review, but I went to Faina last December, the day after the blizzard on Dec. 26th, and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Although I was using a spa (dot) com gift certificiate, they charged a little extra, but I didn't mind because I was spending over and above the amount of the certificate anyway. Also, the receptionist took the time to figure out the most cost effective way for me to use the certificate AND still get all the treatments I was looking to have. I especially enjoyed the body scrub which was the first one I'd ever had. Although I was a bit intimidated at first by the one-size fits all disposable underwear (I'm not the smallest girl on the block!), it worked fine for the treatment I was having. My skin felt so soft and smooth for days afterward. My husband gave me another spa (dot) com certificate for my birthday which I will definitely plan on using again at Faina. The rest of my treatments were equally as lovely although I probably would not do the parrafin wax treatment on my hands again if I'm also getting a body massage or facial, but only because it seems unneccessary given that a facial and a massage both include the hands getting special treatment. It's not the biggest spa in NY, but it's certainly convenient for me as I live in the 'hood. more

I went to Faina's yesterday to see if someone could work the kinks out of my tense neck & shoulder area. My therapist spent a great deal of time and was very thorough in kneading that area and I left feeling much looser and less tense. The atmosphere was calm & relaxing with little extraneous noise; always a plus in a spa. I will definately return. more

I went to Faina's on the first day of the Spa Week specials (10/2010) and had a very relaxing time. The atmosphere was professional and calm, and my European massage was excellent. I didn't feel rushed, the room was quiet, music was calming and the massage therapist was excellent, applying just the right amount of pressure, as requested. By the time I left, I felt like a limp noodle and wished I could just be beamed home rather than having to go outside to busy NYC. more

I very much enjoyed my experience at Faina European Day Spa - they started my appointment on time and were very attentive to my needs. The massage therapist and aesthetician both explained things to me and asked for feedback as needed during my appointment. My facial was thorough and my skin is baby smooth. The summer special was a great deal! more

I was at Faina's Spa on Sunday, and it was my first time in this spa, i have scheduled a facial. Vicky was great. she examined my skin, recommended what facial would be nest for me, and explained the treatment step by step. I loved her hands. Would recommend her and will come back for sure. I have been to many day spas and resort spas in Manhattan and elsewhere, and this was by all means the worst spa experience ever. This is a rip-off. Pros: the location Cons: unworthy price, unprofessional and untrained staff more

Was greatly impressed when I came in for a full spa day at Faina's. Each service was performed professionally and with great attention. The massage therapist gave me exactly the right Deep Tissue massage my muscles ached for. My skin felt soft! Loved the stream shower! And the girl who gave me my first Brazilian wax was very kind and talked me through it. Would come back soon! Pros: Massage, Facial, Body Scrub, Wax Cons: nothing more

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a visit to a Spa. I made an appointment for a 1 Hour Couples Massage. It was very romantic. There were flowers, candles, music and of course wonderful massages which were done in the same room. I loved every moment of it even afterwards when we had champagne and chocolates. We were in a small secluded area from the rest of the spa. Just the two of us. I will definitely be going back soon to try a Couples Package! more

I went there for my birthday. It was fabulous. Everyone was pleasant. I recommend this spa to anyone that wants to feel pamper. Very relaxing atmosphere. more
