I frequently use EMTA and it is okay. My biggest problem is that they don't run early or late enough which is a problem for people that have to be to work by 7 am or who leave work after 10 pm. Another problem that I have is that they run even less frequently on the weekends. They also don't run far enough out.
The good side is that you can get a bus pass for $35 which will last you the whole month with unlimited usage. $35 won't even fill up your tank these days! You can also get a $17 bus pass that gives you 20 rides. EMTA regular fair is $1.10 plus an extra 10 cents if you need a transfer.
