Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church

My family and I recenlty visited this church and it was like a breath of fresh air. For this church whom we fellowship with a few times a year to have over ten thousand members, it continues to feel like home. It pains me to see some of the expectations that are placed on spiritual leaders and their homes of worship. Its impossible to have it all. I have been to a few smaller churches and have walked away feeling like I just slipped by the gates of HELL. Everytime I've stepped foot into Enon there has been such a warm peaceful and safe feeling that rushes over me. It's facinating to see people expect Pastors to personally touch, speak to, visit and email everyone. Being on the Godly frontlines is a huge space to fill. I Love Enon because its the real deal coming from the pulpit. Some get upset when politics are discussed. Now the fact of the matter is it's real and affects our everyday living just as the gospel does. Another thing Pastor Waller is an awesome story teller I witnessed him first hand drop the biography of Noah then tie it to today with the president elect OBAMA and it made total sence. It's no time to be drunk now! if your hating on the structure of the building, or the politics coming from the pulpit, to the parking then you are drunk! For real for real Pastor Waller is one of a very few Pastors known that can have you walk into a sactuary filled with thousands of people who all understand a great level of excellence! Not perfection, cause there's no such thing, and columns maybe blocking your view, scalp being burned by balcony lights( sorry cant say i've paid attention to either) after walking several blocks,he preaches a magnificent word and have you so charged up that all of that stuff doesn't matter and then not feel any type of way about walking another several blocks to find your car. last but not least, its not what you get out of church. I love this Church, Pastor Waller is awesome and he will keep it real with life and the gospel. The colums are not a problem as long as all the TV's are working. However, the larger church you feel like the pastor is un touchable. I emailed the pastor and, I was not happy at all that he or a member from his church never replied to the prayer request on my brother in the hosiptal since 8/16/2007 now 11/05/2007. Pastor Polk from another city I email their prayer line and someone called me personally and prayed with me. I did expect a call from the church I attend since, I always give an offering and I am not a member yet. And the parking in much to be desire, who want to walk on dirt to get to the Church I hope that the 2nd parking lot can get paved with BLACK TOP AT LEASE. I would like the pastor to show his love we more a presence with the people attending and better in touch with email prayer line. A GOOD word travels and a Bad word is a plague.....I still love the Church and I will continue to attend, I am Going tomorrow to praise my Pastor for the big job he has been annointed with. The dancers were very good, but it was hard to see them. The musicians were good, and the praise OK, The Pastor went into a political diatribe the day I was there, revealing deep misunderstandings of the basics of human nature and global realities. I expect church to be a place where Christ is exalted and where personal politics is not so transparent, particularly when it was so pedantic and actually rather hateful. The facility, while new, was one of the worst-designed large churches I have ever been in (and I have been in quite a few). There were many columns with blocked views, and the lights under the balcony practically fried my scalp. It you have to watch the pastor or baptismal on an LCD monitor, why not watch it on TV at home? I also had to walk seven blocks, so whoever determined the parking count had nary a clue about what is needed. Pros: Generally friendly people. Good band, choir, and dancers.
