I was assigned to this doctor after my 4th child was born. Although, I was hesistant to take her to Dr. Talamas especially because I had never even heard of her but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. I called to make the newborn follow up appointment and have the secretary tell me that the doctor cannot see my daughter because she was not the one who checked her or released her from the hospital. I explained that I had been assigned to their office from the insurance and she told me it was office policy. I then called the insurance who again, referred me to the office. I called and spoke to the same lady who finally made my appointment. The first visit, I did like the service I received from the doctor so I decided to change my other 3 kids to her as well. A few weeks later, I needed to get a referral for my 5 year old daughter to an opthamologist so I made an appointment, I even got copies of all her medical records because she has been diagnosed with asthma since she was 2 and has been to specialists for this. Her asthma acts up more in the cold weather. So I take my daughter in on a cold day to the office, as soon as I walk in she coughed a few times and was fine. I signed her in and the receptionist tells me that I need to take her into the sick waiting room because she was sick. I explained that she has asthma that acts up when it's cold but assured her that she was not sick and pointed out that all I needed was a referral. The lady again told me that my daughter was sick and to go into the sick waiting room. I got the paperwork very upset but went and sat in the well child waiting room. The receptionist walked out into the waiting room and asked me to get out of the room because my daughter was sick. Note, that she hadn't coughed since we had walked in from outside because I had given her a shot of inhaler. I again explained that she had asthma and showed her the envelope filled with all her records. She asked me to step outside and said she was going to get her manager, so I did. As I was waiting in the front with my daughter, a very rude man who could hardly speak english came out practically yelling saying that I was already told that since my daughter was sick I had to go into the sick waiting room, I tried to explain to him again about her condition and he wouldn't even let me talk. He told me that if I couldn't follow their rules, I could leave so I asked for my daughter's paperwork back and left. It blew my mind that some receptionist and manager who had barely mastered english would be practicing medicine. I obviously changed doctor's immediately for all my children and will never step one foot in that office again. This is the worst pediatric office I have ever been to and with 4 kids, I've seen my fair share of doctor's offices. I don't recommend this place to anybody. Cons: rude staff more
