I went into their management office to pay my HOA dues in February. I asked the girl at the front desk to verify the amount I needed to pay before I wrote out my check. We would pay the dues in two installments, but I chose to pay mine in full. She told me if I wanted to pay in full I owed $210.00. I paid this amount and received a receipt for this amount. 4 months later in the mail I receive a bill for $5.00 that is still owed on my HOA dues! Well of course I'm upset because I should have been told the correct amount to pay in the first place. I send an email to the management company to ask them if the invoice was correct and explain that I came to their office to pay in person. I also said that it was an inconvenience to me that I have to now write out another check for $5.00 and take another trip to their office. I wasn't being nasty at all, I just thought it was important that someone knew what happened so they could correct it for the future. I received a nasty email back from Nichole White at Elite to say that ""I lterally live two blocks from the office"" and that ""they have a night drop box."" No apology for the error or for the fact that I was inconvenienced in any way. No phone call from them when they posted a check that was a $5 difference from the balance owed. I just received a nasty reply that was very unprofessional on her part. Yes, I do realize that I ""literally live two blocks from their office."" However that is not the point. What if another homeowner is disabled and had their son or someone else drop off their check in the same manner? What if I am charged for the amount of checks I write out on my bank account? What about extra money for gas to their office or the extra stamp I have to use? With people pinching every penny they have these days that was a piss poor way to handle the situation. I simple ""I'm sorry that happened"" or ""what can I do to help?"" would have sufficed in the situation. Maybe if we could pay our dues online this would have NEVER been an issue in the first place!Gosh I hope our board drops their damn contract!-Unhappy Homeowner more
