Rude staff and management 2/21/2007

I bought my wife a $150 gift certificate for Christmas as a treat, and in the end, it was anything but that. It was for a massage for her and a friend. She had to reschedule her first appointment and was treated extremely rudely by the staff. She spoke with Elise, the owner about it and she was very apologetic and offered my wife some extra services for her trouble. When she arrived, the second time was even worse, with the staff again being completely rude and complaining that they had to set up the massage room a certain way as Elise never informed them of the add ons. After waiting around for 20 minutes or more, my wife and friend finally gave up. She then called Cassandra in the Cranston, RI store, who was also apologetic, and asked for a refund. I've been waiting a week or more at this point to get the money credited back to my account. Bottom line....there are lots of spas to choose from in this area..avoid Elan Day Spa at all cost. more

Great Spa in Town if you want to feel special 11/30/2006

I had the most delightful experience at elan. I was totally relaxed and pampered, what a spa experience should be. I had the cranberry pedicure and facial and it felt out of this world! My skin looked and felt so fresh for days. My visit to Elan was about 3 weeks ago and I felt the need to write a review after a lousy experience at a day spa in a neighboring town. Great experience for my first spa day 7/11/2006

Got a gift cert from boyfriend for Elan. My first spa day. A friend and I played hooky from work and spent the whole day at Elan in Canton. It was great: nice people, great services, relaxing atmosphere. Had a body scrub, a massage, a facial, and a pedicure. My friend swears she was taller after her deep-tissue massage. I'm planning on availing myself of the salon services soon. Would certainly play hooky at Elan again. I had worried about snooty staff, but the women at Elan are sweet and friendly. more

Best Day Off I've had this year. 6/25/2006

With all the rain we've been having I decided to take a day off and finally relax and start enjoying the summer. elan has the cure for the summertime wash out. First I started with a Facial, then an hour and half massage (from heaven) then a fab pedicure plus I had a great hair style, so I was ready to go out on the town. I felt so revived from elan and I'm over the rain out we've been having. elan is the cure for getting us back on track Pros: great location, great knowledgeable people Cons: I can't go more often more

WHAT A RIPOFF 6/22/2006

My wife bought me a gift certificate for $90 for a "hot stone massage." I made an appointment for a 1 p.m. massage. I got there and was escorted into a tiny room (so small, there were no hangers or areas for clothes). When I had disrobed and got onto the table to begin my massage, I started to itch. Eventually, an allergic reaction to their linens caused me to get hives and I was in discomfort for hours. Since I was not going to get the message my wife paid for, I asked for a refund. They told me gift certificates are "non refundable" and I should give it to "someone else as a gift or buy some products." The owner, contacted in another location, told me she "doesn't give refunds for gift certificates." So, I am stuck with a gift certificate for a massage I can't have. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. The owner is bogus. Can you imagine the nerve of these people to not honor a certificate for a SPECIFIC service that they can't deliver? Bridal Experience 5/4/2006

My sister just got married last weekend and we went to Élan for Spa Pedicures. The room was great we had all five chairs and it was like a pre-party for the wedding. I felt comfortable and relaxed and so did everyone else. Thank you Élan for making this great experience a memory we will treasure. Hi my name is Karen, my job is to evaluate various spas throughout the country and to write a review. This is done undercover so the salons are unaware that I am there and I can fairly judge each and every one of them. My day at Elon Salon was a disaster. I was appaled at the way the staff treated their clients they were exteremely rude and not very helpful to say the least. The serivices I received was a hair cut/color and a massage. The services were medicore to say the least and the prices are exhorbidant to say the least. The kicker was the staff I have never ever in my life met such snotty people and THEY work behind the counter thats whats so funny about it!!! I would highly recommend going anywhere but here it was not such a pleasant experience. more

Very Relaxing 3/11/2006

I went to Elan for the Relax package for two and it was great! I agree with some of the negative feedback about wait time, but in all I was very satisfied. They made every effort to accomodate me and my friend and that was all that really mattered to me. The atmosphere was so relaxing that I actually enjoyed the wait in between treatments. I definitely recommend this day spa and loved my day of being pampered! The pedicures are awesome!! Pros: beautiful facility, comfortable Cons: wait time more

Very Kind 2/12/2006

I called today to ask a million questions about packages and prices and scheduling for my girlfriend. I spoke with a girl who was kind to me and answered my questions very professionally even though you could tell it was very busy in the background with phones ringing etc. I would recommend this place to anyone. I decided upon the person on the go package. And i cant wait for my girlfriend to set up her day! more

loved my day 1/9/2006

I went to Elan on 1/7/06 for a full day of beauty. I loved it... everyone was so friendly and so helpful and made me feel right at home. I was nervous because it was my first time at the spa but everyone was so professional and so nice to me all day. I loved my massage and my spa pedicure. The salon is just beautiful on the inside and so much larger then you would think from the outside. I give Elan an A++++ Pros: clean, pretty, helpful staff more

I found Bumble and Bumble, Phyto, Paula Dorf and and Elan skin care that is perfect for my skin. I had the laser hair removal performed with Gail. She was great! I have two more sessions left but already see a difference in my hair growth. The machine is brand new and this place is very sanitary and professional. I would have to disagree with marshbe. I had my entire bridal party of 7 girls at elan a few months back and i recieved nothing but the best treatment of my life. They were so helpful with all the 1,000 questions i had...and so patient with my calling every day and changing the appointments. The actual day of the services was awesome. Everything was scheduled perfectly and the staff was so friendly and helpful. If you ask me this salon gets an A+... I have recommended Elan to all my friends and the ones that have gone have loved it and been back since. The beauty of the spa is not only reflected in the decor but the attitude of the staff... My Wedding Day 1/1/2006

The staff was so inviting when I planned my Wedding Day with Tara. They were just as excited as I was to make everything perfect. They opened early for us and we were at the Church early. Cancelling 14 appointments day before a wedding? 12/9/2005

I have been a client of Elan in RI and just one experience will result in me no longer using Elan. If youre thinking about using the salon in Canton, you may want to reconsider. My sister was getting married and booked 14 appointments for her bridal party the day before the wedding; those appointments were booked months before and confirmed one week before. When my sister showed up, ALL 14 appointments had mysteriously been "cancelled." The salon was "unable to find" my sister to confirm even though they had her correct phone number. My sister and I have contacted the salon manager and left multiple messages to discuss, and have not heard back. My sister only got a call from a local manager to apologize (and not politely). This type of conduct is unacceptable and I caution anyone else about using Elan, especially if it is important. Cons: Attitude, Non-responsiveness more

it was more like a torture chamber for a day....ugh.... the staff was rude and unkind, the services were slow and not very good. I go to spas weekly and wanted to try something new and different, I wouldnt recommend this spa to anyone. The wait to get in was 45 minutes which is just uncalled for...... what a great spa 3/2/2005

This spa greats you with a smile. I felt like I was in France for the afternoon. What an escape from the usual. I found a new regular afternoon out with my friends. The mall this spa is located in has the best shopping around this town. Pros: location, parking, spa treatments Cons: none more
