I am SO glad to have found so many people on Yelp who agree with me that this place is sooooo bad!!!! If you know and appreciate good Mex. food do NOT go! Overpriced, small portions, stale tostada shells, microwaved rubber steak....ETC. NO response from call to management until I started posting the hard truth all over their Facebook page LOL! Waitress was nice, but food and margaritas TERRIBLE and I did give them THREE chances....the only reason I went the 3rd time was because a group was going and I had no choice! I will NEVER darken their doorway again and I suggest you don't either. Pros: null Cons: null more

Not "Creative", But Excellent Food And Service 5/6/2009

To try to compare this restaurant to one in Chicago is like trying to compare a black truffle to a button mushroom. This is NOT the same thing as, say, Topolobampo. So if you're not expecting fusion, Pan-American fare by a celebrity chef, you will not be disappointed in El Rancho Grande. Pros: Great service, well made Mexican-American food Cons: Some item prices are high for what you get more

Nothing Special. Not Creative 12/14/2008

I'm from Chicago and know good food, especially Mexican food. What a dissappointment El Rancho Grande was. Their food is like a fast-food mexican restaurant. Being a glutton-for-punishment I tried it again; NEVER AGAIN. Unfortunately, it's the only Mexican Restaurant around this area. I would love to bring one of MY favorite Chicago restaurants to New Buffalo. Pros: Nothing Cons: Poor food quality more
