The best experience of any hotel; Surpasses 5 star hotels 5/28/2007

I needed a little getaway for my mother and me. I've always wanted to go sit in the healing mineral waters. After researching anything within driving distance from Los Angeles, I chose the El Morocco Inn in Desert Hot Springs. It looked perfect! I didn't want a huge hotel with 8 pools and 200 rooms. I wanted small and intimate and relaxing. There was not a single bad thing said on any of the trip websites.\r \r El Morocco lived up to everything I wanted and more! Bruce and Steve were more than gracious as hosts and a lot of fun. They were full of stories and knowledge of the area and the water. The continental breakfast was fabulously delicious and the best I've had at any hotel. (I learned about eating a bagel and cream cheese with avocado and tomato and I'm eating one at home right now!) There was 24 hour day access to drinks, their worldwide award winning water (so tasty!), Humphrey Bogarts, nuts, fruit and other snacks. Happy hour was fabulous and their Morocco-tinis were delicious. We never wanted for anything.\r \r Once you walk into this hotel (we drove past it originally), you feel you are out of the country. The fabric panels flow in the breeze, the Moroccan music played in the background, and the seating, rooms, and outdoor environment made for the most peaceful and relaxing vacation I've ever had. \r \r We walked around this comfy cozy atmosphere in our robes and enjoyed the night sky outside on the chaises after sitting in the spa. We saw a shooting star! I wished to come back to the inn soon.\r \r Our room was the Sultan?s Playpen. Although it was a round bed , it was huge and super comfortable and my mom and I were able to sleep on separate sides. We chose the Playpen because of its living room area.\r \r Bottom line: I can?t say good enough things about this oasis. I just worry that they will become too popular, sell out all the time and I won?t be able to book a room. Also, there is no lunch or dinner in the hotel, but there are delicious places nearby.\r \r \r more
