Mmm!!! 4/29/2009

This place is so tasty. Being mexican, I love mexican food (and drinks, of course). This place was a great find and I have been back several times. The prices are reasonable, the service is great, and the general feel of the restaurant is awesome. Try their burritos when you go. Also, get a marg but have it made with Patron and Ty Ku (the bartender will know what you are talking about). Its super good. SUmmary: LOVE THIS PLACE more

Fajitas recommended! 7/9/2008

We ate there early in the evening while it was not too crowded yet but calm and mellow. The place was very cozy and the romantic setting was perfected by singing mariachis and dimmed light. The menu included a dish called ""president's choice"". The waiter told us that President Nixon used to dine there and this was the dish he usually ordered. It is an arrangement of refried beans, crispy bacon, rice and fried eggs. My salmon fajita came sizzling with a onions, paprika and mushrooms. An extra plate with rice, guacamole, refried beans, and a jar with corn tortillas came alongside. Water was refilled constantly. All in all it was a delectable experience amid a romantic setting. Pros: Delicious food, romantic ambience, kind service, great mariachi singers more

not even average 11/27/2006

the chips were cold; the diet pepsi was flat; the salsa was tasteless and the most surprising part for a mexican restaurant is that they didn't have anything spicy - either on the menu or as a condiment. the decor is quaint and the FLAN IS FANTASTIC. but all in all, we were very disappointed. Pros: the decor; the flan Cons: the food more

MMM! authentic mexican food! 8/7/2006

One of the pet peeves my girlfriend has is mexican food which she considers ""UN""authentic. Coming from out of state, I am a little bit used to it, I'm afraid. But El Adobe de Capistrano hits the mark with really tasty dishes made in true Mexican fashion. If you can get over paying $10.95 for a side order of guacamole(two advocadoes), the service was pretty good and the food is above normal if not outstanding. They have some of the freshest tortilla chips and best tasting salsa I have had in California, or anywhere for that matter. We had to try a cheese enchilada a la carte just to see if they were up to snuff. At something like $5.25 for one enchilada without beans or rice, I thought the price pretty close to ridiculous. But they are definitely in the running for top 10 enchiladas you will ever have. The sauce is almost perfect and they are not ""Americanized"", ""Texified"" or ""Yuppified"" by cheddar or yellow cheese inside. Just good ole' Monterey Jack cheese, and hot when it arrived at our table. If you want to eat quality Mexican food and you're not afraid to pay top dollar for it, this place is a winner. Pros: Authentic Mexican food Cons: Price more
