Economy Foam & Futons

The name says it all -- foam! In addition to futons (and minimal futon furniture) they make all kinds of chair cushions,pillows, etc. Be sure and go down into the basement where you can watch them cut pieces from huge sheets of the stuff. Choice of upholstery fabrics is somewhat limited, but when it comes to the foam itself, you will find exactly the thickness and density you're looking for. And if you need stuffing, you can buy a bag of chopped foam here, which is so much better than that polyester batting that they sell in fabric stores. Great source for custom-cut foam, of all thicknesses and types. I used them to cut a 2" thick piece of foam to fit my window seat. Service was prompt and accurate, and for a 15" x 58" piece, they charged me $24. I also picked up two 16" x 16" poly fill throw pillows - these were only $5.50 apiece. I saw another customer in there, getting a custom-cut T-shaped cushion to replace a worn out couch cushion precisely. Kind of a neat and inexpensive solution to a couch with worn out cushions but good upholstery. They were courteous and I would use them again. One note of warning: I went on June 26, 2005, and was trying to reach their store before they closed at 6pm. I almost didn't make it. Lesson learned: don't try to get to this store on the day of the Gay Pride Parade! more

Economy Foam and Futons has been in business for many years. They sell a great variety of cushions, foam, futon and fabrics. You can also buy cotton for pillows and what not. They also have a good selection of mattresses and Futons, frames, and covers. If you are in need of Foam this is a great place to get it. They can custom cut it to the size you would need. The pricing is not bad, compared to other stores I've been too. The store is a bit crowded with inventory and can get a little stuffy. more
