READ THIS BEFORE HIRING Dreamhouse Windows 12/17/2011

My experience with Dreamhouse Windows has inspired me to find everywhere I can leave a review, to warn people of what they will be getting if they decide to go with DHW. First of all, Tom O'Hara came out to sell us the windows. I begged Tom to give me the short, short version of his presentation, as I was just looking for a price comparison. Well, apparently Tom is incapable of deviating from his script, and his presentation took THREE HOURS. In the end, Tom kept pushing for the sale. TIP: If you keep saying that you want time to think about it, the salesman will ""find ways"" to save you more money. First Tom took $100 off/window. Then, when I still told him I wanted to think about it, Tom miraculously told me that I could have another $1300 off for ""entering their target marketing program"" (which amounts to little more than providing initials several times on a separate sheet of paper). Though it says on the contract that the windows will be installed in about 4 weeks, Tom told me AT LEAST 5 TIMES that the windows will most likely be ready in 3 weeks, and that it would be no problem scheduling installation within a week after they are ready. Tom also claimed that it would be no problem getting a Saturday installation, and if the first Saturday was not available, I would definitely be able to get installation on the following Saturday. Tom claimed that as soon as the windows arrived, I would receive a call. Well, 5 weeks came and went. Finally, I had enough. I called and spoke with the customer service rep (the number on the business card is NOT your salesman's number; you will never see or hear from the salesman again), and she matter-of-factly tells me that the windows had been sitting there for a week. Nobody bothered to call me. The next available appointment was 2 weeks away, and the next available Saturday appointment was a month away. Thanks for lying to me Tom O'Hara. I hope the pay is worth your integrity. So the windows are installed, and the installers leave a huge mess. I had debris left both inside and out, and as the installers ""prepared the window openings"", they did not bother to brush away the cobwebs, dust and dirt exposed when the old windows are removed. They just threw in the new windows and moved on. The caulk job done by the installers was comical. I surely will have to address it in the near future. As for the windows, the quality is nowhere near what you would expect when listening to the salesman. When they throw the windows into the openings, they do not seem to fit. I saw daylight between the tops of the windows and the upper window trim. They ended up covering the gap, but there was no insulation added. Also, when you look at the glass, there is a bluish, greenish tint to it. It is not clear (who would've thought to ask the salesman if the glass in the windows will be clear?). All said and done, I would never recommend Dreamhouse Windows to anyone. You truly get what you pay for. Poor quality windows, terrible customer service, dishonest salesmen, apathetic installers. That about sums it up. more
