Fantastic fantasy & sci-fi books & comics 10/31/2005

DreamHaven is a great store with an extensive selection of science-fiction, fantasy, and comic books, both used and new. If they don’t have something really obscure, they’ll be happy to order it for you. Occasionally, they will have in-store author signings and actually have their own press to publish books, DreamHaven Press (which publishes Neil Gaiman’s “Angels and Visitations”). They’ve been open since 1977, and it’s easy to see why they’ve been around so long. more

Not your typical comic store 8/17/2005

Dreamhaven is a splendid bookstore. Until I went in, I thought it was a comic store, but I couldn't be more wrong. I would describe it as a Sci-fi fantasy bookstore. They have a great collection of books, comic books, etc, etc. Even some good imports that are hard to find elsewhere. If you're in the area, me sure to check out Dreamhaven! more

Geek Paridise 8/13/2005

Dreamhaven is truly a mecca to comic book and sci-fi fans, many have come from around the world to see the place in person and to bask in its geek aura. This fanatic following is due in part to its fabulous selection and in part to the fact that just about anyone who is anyone in the world of sci fi and fantasy has stopped by for a reading and/or book signing. Famous names such as Douglas Adams, Orson Scott Card, and William Gibson have all graced Dreamhaven's doorstep, and Neil Gaiman used to show up nearly every other week. They used to have another store near the U of MN campus (on 4th St. in Dinkytown), but this location closed in 2003. more
