I was very apprehensive to try chiropractic, but after years of suffering and an excellent recommendation from a trusted source, I decided to try it. Having had spinal surgery as a teenager, I was reluctant but felt out of other options. I used to miss several days a year due to what I would call my ""flareups"". I would be in such excutiating pain from neck to my toes that I would not be able to walk. Since I started seeing Dr. Turnbull several years ago, I have not missed a day a work. When I do my rehab exercises, wear my orthodics, and get regular treatment, I feel capable of doing anything. I never thought that I would be camping and hiking, but I am. With a gentle but firm hand, he describes and shows exactly how his safe adjustments to my spine can help me feel better. I have suffered with a severe curvature of the spine since Junior High. In the twenty years since its been diagnosed, I have seen a multitude of general practitioners, chiropractors, orthopedic surgeons, & physical therapists. Of all the caregivers I've seen, Dr. Turnbull is the only one that consistently provides the right treatment at the right time in the right way with the right frequency. The MDs wanted to medicate, the surgeons wanted to operate, & the other chiropractors wanted to bill me for daily visits. I appreciate how Dr. Turnbull evaluates not just my ailment but the nuances of me, his client: When an adjustment is necessary, we head for the table; when a long session of painful stretches is in order, he pulls me through the wringer, when acupuncture would help, we use the pins, and when I actually need to see a doctor, he sends me there immediately.\r \r As a result, I consider Dr. Turnbull my ""First Responder"" as his judgement invariably leads me in the right direction for my Health. Dr. Turnbull first treated me at LHW before he opened Activa Chiropractic & Acupuncture. I had an old sports injury in my shoulder cuff return. It developed into adhesive capsulitus (""frozen shoulder""). I had never had chiropractic work- and was a little suspicious of its value- but chronic pain was preventing me from sleeping through the night. Not to mention extremely limiting an active lifestyle... I was desperate. Dr. Turnbull and I discussed my injury, and he listened. He offered methods of treatments, and we decided on a mutually agreed upon course. I left the office on my first visit feeling better, and after only the first week of treatments, was sleeping through the night for the first time in months. Within two months, I was 100% better, and back to doing the things I love in Denver. (All this without surgery or cortisone shots!) My health insurance doesn?t cover chiro, but I still go regularly to Dr. Turnbull for a ?tune-up.? He?s an amazing practitioner, and the value is that good! Pros: Two thumbs way up...
