I have had my daughter in Dot Tot since May 2012. I found Dot Tot at a time that I desperately needed care and I was lucky enough to secure enrollment right away. I was a first time Mommy who was VERY nervous about leaving my 9 month old daughter at a day care center but Dot Tot made me feel at ease. The director gave me and my Mom a tour of the center and answered any questions I had. I was encouraged to come back with my daughter as many times as I wanted prior to enrolling so I could observe her in the classroom. Dot Tot has an open door policy and parents are welcome to drop in at any time. \r \r Dot Tot provides diapers, wipes, breakfast, lunch and two snacks. They also provide milk, juice and water. The meals are cooked onsite in the kitchen and the monthly menus are available so that you know what your child is eating on a daily basis.\r \r There is a low turnover rate with staffing and many of the teachers have been with Dot Tot for 15+ years. This is great because the kids get a chance to get to know their teachers really well and the teachers get to watch the kids grow. The teachers are all so kind to the children and my daughter gets plenty of love and attention everyday at Dot Tot. She is now 2 and loves coming to the center to play with her friends. more

I enrolled my 4 month old daughter 3 weeks ago and she has adapted very well already! She smiles really big for her caregivers and they are a very loving group of people. Ms Debbie is amazing and obviously knows how to read baby body language (tired, hungry, etc). I also asked her to hold off on feeding her if it's close to my arrival time and I only had to ask once. I would also agree with the 'don't judge a book by it's cover' comment. I was one of those judgers and I'm glad I took a tour and enrolled her! The transition back to work was hard enough and they made it easy- VERY happy new mommy! more

Check Out DOT Tot for Downtown Child Care 12/21/2009

I had to laugh as I read the review ?don?t judge a book by its cover? describing DOT Tot. How true! When I worked in the building across the street from DOT Tot years ago, I always told myself, if I ever have kids they won?t be going there?Well, here I am years later writing to share how excellent DOT Tot really is. It?s a non-profit coop, with very caring staff and low turnover, so there is quality consistency in who will be caring for your child during their time at DOT Tot. Low teacher/child ratios. Diapers and wipes are included in tuition, as well as healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks for the tots. Easy street parking for quick drop off/pickups. Also available for 2+ year olds are weekly gymnastics classes for $38 per month. My son absolutely loves it. Pros: Convenient downtown location with easy drop-off Cons: Kinda old buildng more

Best daycare we have ever used! 12/11/2009

The phrase, ""Don't judge a book by it's cover"" applies here. Dot Tot is not the newest or fanciest daycare in town. When you drive up to Dot Tot the exterior of the place certainly won't knock your socks off. Pros: EXPERIENCED daycare providers who love what they do Cons: Older building...(see first line in comments section) more

Loving childcare 9/16/2009

My child loves coming here each day. Staff is warm and friendly. Low staff turnover means my child knows who is providing care and they know the kids' personalities. Pros: great staff who love kids Cons: playground is a little tired more

You pay for 30 days per child, no matter what DOT TOT does 7/14/2009

Our experience may be unique, but I doubt it. Our twin infant daughters (19 months old when we believed we had to remove them) were bitten by a little boy. Same child bit each girl once. We went through the process and thought it was taken care of, ie that the child would be kept away from our girls. (our kids were not all that mobile) But he liked our girls and proceeded to bite one of them again. Even a dog only gets one bite. We removed our girls from DOT TOT that week, but guess what. We still had to pay 30 days times two (over $1100.00) because the contract does not give you the parent an out even if you leave for the safety of your child. Otherwise we loved the place. I hope ours was a unique experience. Our pediatrician used to say that our girls were so sweet you could put them on bread and not need jam. Our son bit me once and I flicked his cheek with my finger and he never bit anyone again. We still feel it was a problem DOT TOT and the other parent should have fixed. Pros: It is a loving environment Cons: except you pay even if unsafe more

Loving environment 9/17/2008

I am pleased to have found such a loving environment for my son that is also close to my work. And I like that I have a vote in some of the decisions involving the center. more
