Nothing beats sitting outside in the summer, in view of the beautiful buildings of the U-M Law School, while drinking Bell's Oberon and sangria. Hopefully if you're smart, you're...

go there and remember old law school days 3/12/2008

I did work there in 1975. Sounds like nothing has changed. The owner was at his 50's then and always hired foreigners who can not complain about anything. Pros: good memories Cons: food is greasy more

Avoid Dominicks 9/22/2007

I liked Dominick's until once I went in to order. A person who I assumed to be the owner, an over weight middle age man, was shouting at one of the waiter's. He was very rude to her. I was patiently waiting, the girl tried to serve me while the owner was still giving her shi t. So he turned around and said ""no he can wait..now do what I am telling you"". Overall, this person was very rude to me and to his staff. I have never set foot at Dominick's after the incident. Pros: outside Cons: rude owner more

terrible service, frat scene, mediocre food--good sangria 6/13/2007

Ann Arbor, for such a small college town, has many good restaurants. Dominick's does not fit into this category. Dominick's has the feel of a large frat party (perhaps I am too old, in my early 30s, for this place). There's lots of cheap beer and sangria, mediocre food, and service that's geared towards a college population that?s usually too drunk to care. The typical experience is to walk up to a counter and order food. The person who takes your order asks if you would like to leave a tip (I've never seen this tactic before). I felt obliged--even though the place is self-serve?and even though the staff is quite surly. Then they call out your name and you come get your own food. My biggest problem with the place is the owner, who treated me like dirt. I asked for a refill of a water pitcher (I was dining with my pregnant wife who was thirsty). He pointed me to the water fountain and told me he did not have time to fill our water pitcher (I wanted to ask for my tip back!!!!). This is the same water fountain that people throw yak all over--it was gross. I came back empty handed and sent my wife to see if she would have better luck. Her charm talked her into a refill--but not before a speech from the owner about why he cannot understand why the water fountain does not get used and how he as no time. He probably could have filled the pitcher several times while he went on his rage. The owner's attitude sums up this place: ?we couldn't care if you patron our business?. So I will not go there any more. Unless you want the frat scene, avoid this place for its bad food, but more importantly, bad manors! Pros: sangria Cons: terribe service, bad food, frat scene more

Sangria and Bell's Oberon 3/21/2004

Nothing beats sitting outside in the summer, in view of the beautiful buildings of the U-M Law School, while drinking Bell's Oberon and sangria. Hopefully if you're smart, you're not drinking them both together, unless getting sick is desire, but Dominick's is where it's at for this sort of activity. Just be sure to stand up every so often for a sobriety check because sangria has an inconspicuous way of getting you pretty sloppy without any good warning signs until you stand up and try to walk, or heaven forbid, drive. See you there this summer! Pros: Outside seating, Good liquor selection, Good munchies Cons: , Outside = bugs more
