As for the tax-related accusation written, that sounds like a person who had a bad experience, they did not imply that they work for the IRS. As for all of you who stated it was defamation and slander, you're wrong. Nonethless, such stuff should not appear in the Review section. Doggie Day Care of River Oaks Gabriel, Gia and team love and take wonderful care and attention to ALL of their doggie students!! I have been taking Betti for 4 years and I am extremely happy with the love and care she receives each and every visit. She loves it and I feel so comfortable knowing she is with such caring people! I am an indepenent auditor and have it on VERY GOOD AUTHORITY that they are being auditioned for tax evasion and other financial misdeeds. At one time they had a good reputation I understand, but for all you current customers and ones considering this place - DON'T! There are about 7 or 8 terrific places in the river oaks area/heights area. Baased on my source (legally I cannot name this entity but let me put it to you this way: every taxpayer knows them well, especially come April). more

I can't believe anyone would pay a dime to put their dog in that place. Why? Because all they let the dogs do is lie around in a backyard that's 90+ degrees. I liked the cage free idea but hey, who doesn't? Then when i was in the front, I heard one of the employees totally yelling at a dog, I wouldn't be surprised if a wallop went with it but i was in front and couldn't see. Went around to the side and saw the supposed employee through the fence sitting on a bench in the shade eating doritos and tossing them to the dogs. I could smell the feces from where I was,, I could just imagine how bad it was from in the yard. No way I'd go back to that place. more

Went through there with my wife after calling NUMEROUS TIMES-nobody ever picks up the phone. Went in while the help was eating lunch in the reception area and feeding chips to the puppies around them (I'm sure the owners of those dogs would be tickled to know THAT ONE). Anyway, more

Just started placing my puppy at Doggie Day care! Tilly loves it! And most important too, Gabbie & her staff are the greatest. They are very caring and friendly. My husband and I are really very appreciative of their services and how much they love & care for the pack like their own. Pros: Clean, VERY caring & friendly staff! more

Got the most genial welcome from Gabby and knew a lot about the breed, West Highland Terrier. A real life saver for an energetic and active dog that needs more than a single owner can give. The perfect place for dog exercise in a companionable, playful, healthy environment. Much more desirable for a dog than merely sitting home alone during the day waiting for a dog walker to spend 20 minutes outdoors and dog is much happier now. After all, dogs are animals meant to live in a pack and this is fun for them. Not to mention, a nice break for an owner! Pros: Best dog day-care around more

All I have to do is whisper ""Gabriella"" (name of the owner) and my labradoodle gets so excited. He loves it there. The staff are delightful. Great place for dogs, very impressed with the customer service. Free cage for dogs and a big playground area. Grooming services are good and excellent prices. Very clean place. My dog always enjoy his time there...he comes home happy and tired! The owner is very nice and friendly and can work with you if you are not on time to pick up your dog. Very flexible pick up and drop off times (you won't be charge extra) . In general I would recommend this place for dogs. Excellent! We left our dog at this dump and she came back to us with fleas and ringworm. The people who work there were rude, they have no knowledge of dogs and it shows. The warning bells should have went off when I saw they only were boarding a few dogs over a holiday weekend. Live and learn. Avoid this place at all costs. From now on, we will get a petsitter! I brought my maltese to this place after being put on a ""waiting list"" at Petco last Saturday & was really happy with the job the groomer/owner did. She clipped my dog exactly the way I asked and she even took the time to show me how to maintain the dog so that I wouldn't have to bring him to be groomed that often-imagine that, showing me how to save money! I wish I could remember her name, all I know is she's from New York--she took excellent care of me & my dog. I also loved the fact that there's no cages in this place-the dogs get to play with other dogs while they wait to be groomed, so I got free daycare and grooming at an awesome price. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is sick & tired of being charged an arm & a leg by the big shops out there. Pros: Great grooming,awesome price,cage-free more

I brought my mini-schnauzer to this place recently and I have to say this was the best experience I have ever had with grooming. First off, I was able to bring my dog on a Sunday (now how convenient is that?), and when I got there, the groomer actually took the time to listen to what I wanted, what type of cut, nails, ear shaping, etc. I can be picky about that. When I came back to pick her up, she was running around, having a great time with the other dogs there--no cages, no kennels, which is a great thing to me. The grooming was done exactly as I asked, my dog was clean, happy, and the price was right. I couldn't ask for anything better than this place. Bring your dog here-you definitely won't be sorry! I started bringing my maltese & bichon to ths groomer when my regular place couldn't fit me in and I never looked back! The groomer, Lisa, treats my babies like their her own dogs, when I get there, she comes out, sits with me and goes over what needs to be done--such personal attention is rare! And if I have any special requests, she does them and she does them without flaw! Try getting this type of first class service at Petco. Best of all are her prices. She discounts people with multiple dogs-again, try getting a discount at Petco! I also love the fact that she doesn't put my babies in cages-they get to play with other pups while they are there so when I go pick them up, they are happy, clean, well cared for, so I'm delighted. If anybody needs a great groomer at great prices, check out Lisa over at this place-she's a gem! more

I used to bring my mini-schnauzer Buddy to Petsmart for grooming and one day they had no time, so I tried Doggie Daycare of River Oaks....WOW, is all I can say! Talk about a first-class job they did! Best of all, they don't cage the dogs--they let them play while they wait to be groomed. The groomer actually took the time, even though busy, to sit with me and discuss how I wanted Buddy trimmed. I am very fussy and didn't expect the superb job she did. I was able to pick him up after a short while, but I opted to let him stay there a few more hours so he could play with the other cuties that were attending the daycare--and it was on a Saturday--they actually have daycare 6 days a week, unlike everywhere else. And they only charged me for the grooming-and the price as outstanding. This place is a great value, a hidden gem! Pros: Super grooming, super friendly groomer, super prices Cons: Not one con! more

I started bringing my dog to Doggie Daycare last year, before they moved into their new location and I wouldn't dream of taking her anywhere else; she grew up with Gabriela and Lisa--sometimes I get jealous because when I go to get her at night, she doesn't want to go home with me! Everything about this place appeals to me-especially their pricing. They include everything in one rate as opposed to the other places I checked out. And their grooming is first-rate. But the best thing about this place is the owners. They greet me like an old friend and treat my dog as if she were one of their own-that's most important. I highly recommended checking this place out first-you will be glad that you did. Pros: Great daycare, great grooming, great prices, great people! more

I have taken my dog Bailey (not the same Bailey as a previous review) to Doggie Daycare of River Oaks once a week almost every week for the past six months. Bailey is so excited when we go to Doggie Daycare she tries to get out of the car before we turn into the parking lot. She just loves it and I love how happy (and tired) she is when I pick her up! . . . with CMiller about Doggie Daycare of River Oaks. I've taken my dog there every workday for a year and boarded him many weekends. The owners are fantastic! They treat my dog like their own. They take him to the vet when I can't. They alert me to any possible health issues. They got his city license for me. They give him complimentary baths because he's there so much. They let me pick him up after hours. They come to my car when I drop him off and pick him up. And best of all, my dog loves this place, and he adores the owners! I've tried other places where my dog is just one of the dogs and is stuck in a cage. I also checked out the place that CMiller recommends. They seemed okay, but you had to pick up your dog every day by 6:00. Most professionals I know are just leaving the office by that time. My experience with other (overpriced) doggie daycares is lots of inflexible rules about hours and such, lots of waiting around to drop off or pick up your dog, and lots of extra charges to pay any attention at all to your pet. Doggie Daycare of River Oaks couldn't be more different. Pros: Too many to list Cons: None worth mentioning more

I found this gem about a month ago after having used a couple of other boarding & daycare facilities in the past. The others were fair to good, but this place is simply the best! When I first went there to check it out, the first things I noticed was that the place has a home-like feel to it; the dogs that they had there looked like they were well-care for & were totally relaxed---not running around barking frantically. And it looked & smelled absolutely clean-no ""dog"" smells whatsoever. One of the owners is also a groomer and she did an incredible job with my maltese, Bailey, for an incredible price---so now I have a groomer, a daycare provider & a place to board Bailey all in one spot-how much more convenient can you get? I adore the owners, they're wonderful with the dogs & they obviously love what they do. What more can I say, this place is the best of the best! My dog Boogie loves this Daycare. They take the best care of my little boy when we are out of town and when we are in town. They even will send an emailed pic of your little guy/girl if you ask them to. This is top notch for a great price. I definately recommend this to any pet owner - new or old. more
