Like a safari -- almost 10/2/2006

When I first went to the Animal Kingdom I didn't hear good things about it so I was a little guarded. I kept hearing that you won't see many animals so it was a waste of time and money. Boy was I surprised to see almost *every* animal they had! The gorilla was putting on a real show that day -- pulling apart newspapers and just all around being entertaining. The only one that wasn't available to see was in with the vet that day. I don't remember which animal it was but it was the one that I really wanted to see because I'd never seen one before. Go fig, eh? If you want to get a truly safari-type experience, stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and ask for a room that faces the park. My sister and her family stayed there last year and woke up to a view of elephants (I think elephants). Now where can you experience something like that without paying an arm and a leg? more

Newest Disney Theme Park! 4/16/2006

Located in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, Animal Kingdom is the fourth and newest theme park. This park is filled with all kinds of wonderful attractions and rides. Look closely at the Tree of Life and take in all the details. Some favorites- Expedition Everest, Lion King Show and the Safari Ride! The animals are fascinating as well. more

They have soooo much to offer! 4/14/2006

This Disney theme park is truly a unique and incredible experience and has something for every member of the family. The animals are terrific to see, and the grounds are like stepping in to the animal's natural habitats. There are shows for kids and plenty of opportunities to meet the characters, as well as terrific rides. Expedition Everest is the newest addition, and it is absolutely INCREDIBLE! We had the opprotunity to ride it during the annual passholders preview, and were blown away. The park is wonderful for a lesiurely stroll, soaking up the beautiful details and scenery, as well as for making rounds to the rides and attractions. more

Enjoyable day 4/9/2006

We spent an enjoyable day at Disney's Animal Kingdom last fall. The only downside to the visit at all was that my daughter's were disappointed that the newest attraction - Mt. Everest - was not yet completed. The park is safari themed and does a wonderful job of displaying animals in beautiful, natural settings. Because I was pregnant at the time I was unable to go on many of the rides but the rest of my family really seemed to enjoy them, especially the dinosaur ride. I personally enjoyed the visit to Animal Kingdom because the pace seemed slower than at many of the other parks. We enjoyed the parade although it did block us from getting to where we needed to go. Because we were part of a Magical Gathering group we were able to take a special Safari Tour and Dinner. The tour was great and the dinner was delicious. While not as exciting as some of the other parks at Disney, Animal Kingdom is a wonderful place to spend the day. more

Great Variety 4/7/2006

This is a neat park. They have a fewer attractions (Bug's Life 3-D movie and River Rapid rides) than the other Disney Parks but nonetheless, still a fun place to spend a day. The safari is really neat. You ride through the different regions and get to see the animals in their "natural habitat", not in cages. The daily parade is also a must see. more

Amazing Animal Adventures 4/5/2006

Animal kingdom is one of my favorite Disney parks. I love to get there early in the morning and head right to the safari. You can get so close to the animals, it is truly amazing. The Bird of Fantasy show is really good and I highly recommend on going through the two safari treks where you can see the gorillas and tigers. Stop by Flame Tree BBQ for some great lunch. more

Superb but Limited Attractions 3/26/2006

Animal Kingdom is the newest park at WDW and has the least number of attractions, but what they do have is very well done. The safari and Lion King alone are worth a visit. On the safari the animals are free roaming (although they are given encouragement to be visible- like cooled rocks), so you will never have the same experience. Festival of the Lion King is a multi sensory presentation and wonderful! Take time to look at the animals and absorb the experience. more
