I found DLS on citysearch and after reading all of the reviews decided to give it a try. Amie was able to fit me in that afternoon and was a real pro! She was very friendly & extremely knowledgeable about cutting techniques, hair type, etc. She asked me to show her 2 pictures of what I didn't want my hair to look like and one picture of what type of style appealed to me. When deciding about highlights, she provided a tremendous amount of information about color, process, etc. She was fantastic and very affordable. The highlight and cut came to $70! Until recently, I've always gone to really high-end salons because I felt as if I was getting the most skill and talent for the money yet often left feeling I didn't get my best value. On a friend's recommendation, I tried Suzzette at Dirtly Little Secret and had a comfortable and unpretentious experience with great skill and care worthy of a higher fee. Suzzette makes this place really sing!!!!! Pros: friendly, stylish atmosphere, unpretentious Cons: hard to find more

Amie has been thorough, and never judgemental, through all of my self hair mutilations. She has comprehensive knowledge of the products that she is using. I have loved my hair on all occasions, and walked out feeling very relaxed and completely satisfied. I trust Amie's ability , and if I tell her what I want, she is willing to hear me out, let me know if she thinks it will compliment my face, or if we should try a different version of what I had brought up, as you know, most hairstylists would just do it, just because you want it, and never actually think twice about how you will be able to maintain the hairstyle that you are given. She is wonderful, and has made me feel pretty over and over again......and did I mention that she is a rock star as well??? I've been to A LOT of different hair salons, in Portland and Seattle, and thought that DLS was one of the best. Amy was wonderful and really took the time to get a sense of what I wanted and what would work with my hair.
