I used this service on a friends recommendation, The driver and car had a very bad oder like he lived in the car and to top it off he kept talking on the cellphone the whole time from Manhattan to JFK hes was 15 minutes late and didn't get out of the car to help put the suitcases in the trunk. Pros: He knew he's way to the airport Cons: Driver and car has bad oder, talked on cell the whole time, did not help with suitcases, LATE, SPOKE VERY LITTLE ENGLISH. more

45 minutes late and couldnt figure out where to go at the airport. also the dispatcher couldnt figure out how to get the correct phone number even though i told them 4 times. the driver also didnt know where he was going in downtown manhattan and had to stop to figure it out. what a hastle! We reserved with a credit card and then got to the airport and the driver said that we could not use a coupon with a credit card (which we later found was not true). So we paid with cash. But the car service billed our credit card anyway! They refuse to cancel the charge, and we have been protesting it. What a hassle. more

If I could give a negative rating, it would be at least a negative 10. I would never use this car service again. The customer service for this company is horrendous. the driver forgot to give me my credit card back and the car service wanted to charge me for another driver to take me to the office to get my credit card back. i called the office to make sure they had my cc as i was supposed to be stopping by to pick up my cc i was informed that the office was closed. when i asked what i was supposed to do, the person told me she didnt know and hung up on me. GREAT Customer Service!!! ON that note, i decided to cancel my cc. I explained the situation to the next driver who was picking me up and this company proceeded to give my driver a hard time and told him they were going to charge him for the trip to their office, even though i cancelled it. in addition, everytime i have called this company to try to get my cc back, their customer has been EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL and has hung up on me everytime or I am told to call back at a certain time and the person I am supposed to speak with isn't in. As I said, I will never ever use this service again and i travel about once a week for work. Oh yeah they charged me an extra $5 for a luxury car and the car was definitely NOT a luxury mobile, it wasn't clean nor was it a new model--what a ripoff more

Big mistake. 11/19/2007

This is my first time writing a negative review, but due to low level of service I received, I need to. I used Dial 7 to book a ride for 5 people (myself included) from La Guardia to my home in Brooklyn. I paid $72 for this service online (a BIG mistake) before I booked. The five of us waited for over an hour for our cab to arrive. I called four times during this period and got different answers every time I called. Everything from ""You don't see him? He should be there"" to ""It will be another 20 minutes before he arrives."" I was put on hold for several minutes at a time because my driver was not answering his phone. It was freezing cold outside and since it was my choice to book this horrible company, I was embarrassed. My family and I were cold, exhausted and p*ssed off. I will never book with Dial 7 again and I greatly encourage you to avoid them as well! Cons: Service, price, length of time waited, given the runaround on phone more

Attrocious experience 11/13/2007

This is the worst car service we've ever used and will never use it again. The driver was 10 minutes late. We had to call to find out where he was and were told he had just arrived. When we went out he said that he'd been waiting and called us but our phone was off. Yeah, right. The drive to JFK was ridiculous with him attempting to ""short cut"" through 25 MPH residential streets with stop signs at every block. When we arrived at the airport he attempted to charge us a $10.00 ""waiting fee"" in additional to the regular fare. When we challenged him he started in on how we'd kept him waiting 15 minutes. How ridiculous. We reminded him that he was 10 minutes late and he then said how he'd been out waiting for us and could have gotten a ticket so we should pay. He didn't like us pointing out the fact that he did not get a ticket, so his point had no merit. At this point he was extremely rude and began to yell at us (two women). We told him that we were not going to pay his unreasonable waiting fee and if he didn't stop being so rude we would not tip him either. He just kept on with his rant. My daughter crossed out the waiting fee and left no tip on the charge slip and suggested he not be rude to women. We got out of the car and got our luggage out oursevles. He followed my daughter and was screaming at her for ""being f***ing cheap"" and cussing her out a blue streak. She reminded him that he should not be rude and his behavior proved that he did not deserve any tip and we'd be complaining to management. Do not under any circumstances use this company. We'll stick with the company with all 6's in their phone #. Pros: Car was nice. Cons: Driver was late, tried to charge a ""waiting fee"" and was EXTREMELY rude. more

Avoid - Take a Taxi 10/28/2007

Prior to leaving Australia we booked Dial 7 to supply a limousine for four trips, from JFK to a Times Square Hotel, from a Times Square Hotel to JFK (for a trip to Niagara), from JFK to a Times Square Hotel (return from Niagara), From a Times Square Hotel to JFK (to depart New York for Australia. Cons: Poor and Rude Central Control. Unreliable. more

The worst!!! 10/6/2007

I was amazed to see any good reviews of this company. I have used a lot of different car services in my life, and I have never had an experience like this one. I cannot believe they advertise themselves as a professional limo service! I made a booking to have a sedan (and I did specify sedan) pick me up at JFK. After waiting outside with my bags for 40 mins and calling the amazingly unhelpful customer service twice, a tan coloured minivan covered in dents showed up, being driven by some distant cousin of Ali G. I told him I'd been waiting a long time and he gave me this incredulous look and shook his head. This guy was so rude- he was spitting out the window regularly, texting while driving at full speed, having loud phone conversations, sticking his head out the window and slowing down to ogle women on the street- I felt like I must be on some hidden camera show. The car was filthy, and the windows shook loudly. I am usually a very generous tipper, and never in my life have I tipped less than 15% at the very least, and that was for horrible service. But I had such a bad experience, I tipped this man $1.50, at which point he told me that I hadn't tipped him enough, and I told him why I was not going to tip him more, which seemed to come as a complete surprise to him. He stormed off all angry. I feel terrible not tipping, but I was so upset at that point. Please, do not use this car service. I waited in the cab line for 1/2 an hour the next time I came in, and took a cab in in crazy traffic, and the experience was a million times happier. We were quoted 55 dollars for a ride and later were charged 75. It was quite late and dark so we signed and tipped several more dollars and got out of the car. Later we realized the discrepancy in looking at the bill and called them. We called multiple times, and got responses stating that someone would call us back and no one ever did, and no one will speak to us there now. It?s a shame that this had to happen- the company was otherwise nice, but I cannot use them again because of the dishonesty. UNRELIABLE 2/15/2007

I booked on the phone with a person on a Tuesday night for a 5 am Thursday morning run from Manhattan to JFK. When I called at 5am to ask where my car was, they said, whoops, sorry, it'll take 20 to 30 minutes to send a car to you. They didn't call to alert me, they didn't even seem to know about my appointment until I called them! LOUSY LOUSY SERVICE. I cancelled and grabbed a cab which cost less than their service would have. If you need a car service, call anybody but these guys. Cons: don't show when you have an appointment. more

I used this service recently when my parents were in town visiting me. I informed the operator that my parents would have specific directions from a hotel in manhattan to my home in brooklyn. When my father offered the directions they were refused by the driver. He took an alternate route that cost significantly more than what I was quoted. He also charged them for a second stop that never happened. When I called the company with my concerns, the operator was rude, raised her voice, and interrupted me frequently. She said that since my father did not insist on his directions that he was at fault. As a tourist, he had no understanding of the significant difference in the route and no reason to expect that this would mean a significant raise in the fee. He also did not realize that he would need to debate with the driver, assuming that, as the customer, his interests would be accomodated easily. She was not remotely receptive to my concern that my parents had been taken advantage of by her company. Additionally, she fought my efforts to speak with her supervisor or file a complaint. more

Terrible 1/18/2007

After arriving at Newark airport, I called to let them know I was waiting for my luggage. I was told that they couldn't take my reservation number until I had my baggage. When I got it and called them back, I was kept on hold for 15 minutes. I then ended up waiting outside for my car for 45 minutes. The driver did not have my credit card information on file (which I had definitely given them when making the reservations) so I had to stop at an ATM along the way. I called a manager the next day to complain. He said he'd look into it and get back to me.....I never heard back from him. DO NOT USE THIS CAR SERVICE!!! more

Promises Late Model Lincoln - I was picked up with a 7 year old Mini Van - LIARS 1/14/2007

I just arrived at Laguardia after two weeks on the road. When I called Dial 7 to let them know that I had arrived and had my luggage I was leary when they told me the car number but did not tell me what kind of car to expect. When a tan colored 2000 mini-van pulled up I was in horror when the driver called to me. I said, there must be a mistake. When I called to complain I was told that's what you get when you request one of their basic cars. They are liars. Stay away! more

Worst Experience EVER! 1/11/2007

I would not recommend using this car service company. I had the absolute worst experience ever. The driver barely spoke English. Even though the cost of the ride, tolls and tip were all pre-paid in advance, the driver demanded cash! Even after the dispatcher confirmed that everything was pre-paid and told him not to take any money from me, he continued to scream in broken English that I needed to give him cash. He even had the nerve to grab my wrist and physically not let me out of the car while he called the dispatcher for a second time and was told the exact same thing! I ended up calling Dial 7 on my cell phone and putting him on with them. I finally told him I was going to call the police and I just got out of the car and he attempted to run after me but I think it finally sunk in that I didn't need to pay. He offered no apology at all. The manager was very apologetic and offered to do something to compensate me for this awful experience, but he has yet to follow through and it's been a month. In any event, I will never use this car service again. Cons: EVERYTHING more

Most stressful ride to the airport ever! 12/14/2006

I reserved a car for a 3:30 pickup on a recent Sunday afternoon, going to Newark airport. I thought this would be easier and less stressful than trying to flag down a taxi on a busy holiday shopping weekend. Turned out this was not the case. I was downstairs in front of my building at 3:30 promptly. At 3:35, I began to grow nervous. I called Tel-Aviv and they said the driver was stuck in traffic and it would be another 7 minutes. I waited outside in the event they came earlier, but to no avail. After 10 minutes had passed, I called back, and the woman said the driver was just crossing over 5th ave onto my block. I waited 4 light cycles, but still no car. I called a third time, at which point I said I was very concerned because I had already called twice and... I was hung up on! Now angry (and worried about being late), I called a 4th time. The calls really didn't matter. I finally did get a car at 4:00 (30 minutes late). I told the driver he was late, and insisted he was not. He told me he'd gotten the call to pick me up only 10 minutes ago, after his previous fare failed to show up. When I called to ask for a discount, given my 30 minutes of standing in the cold, I was told that they would give me $5 off a $51 fare. I was insulted! I asked to speak to a manager, but she was apparently busy with other customers. Ultimately, I had to run through the airport, cut the front of the security line, and wound up in my seat a sweaty and frustrated mess. Given my destination (the airport), didn't they think my reservation was time sensitive!?!? The women on the phone were not nice to me, the company obviously lost or just didn't care about my *reservation,* and they obviously had no remorse over thier atrocious service. I will NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. In fact, I am investigating whether I can report them to any board or other agency. Pros: Nice driver Cons: Late, horrible customer service more
