the most personalized, attentive service i've ever received -- and from the owner herself, in addition to her talented staff. i'm a curly-girl, to borrow their label, and have finally found a salon that doesn't mistreat or abuse hair that's already pretty fragile (and that's including a popular competing salon specializing in curly locks!). my hair's never been healthier. atmosphere, products and services are as relaxing and pleasurable as the end result. i consistently refer friends and acquaintances seeking top-notch hair stylists to this salon. it's a nobrainer for anyone with curly hair. Curly Hair 101 9/27/2002

I have wavy to curly hair that I've always tried to blow dry straight. Since going to Keith for a haircut and loads of styling/care tips, I now have gorgeous, non-frizzy, curly hair. Their products are wonderful, too - reasonably priced and they smell SO nice (lemongrass conditioner and pear-scented gel). Go to Devachan for a lesson in how to take care of and style your curly locks. Pros: Nice space, Unpretentious, service-oriented Cons: spendy, but worth it more

Best Experience I've Had 9/24/2002

Best Hair Coloring Experience I've Ever Had. I walked into this cool Soho salon. The receptionist brought me the most amazing glass of iced tea (in a champagne glass, nonetheless). Vida took her time in analyzing my hair...then proceeded to PAINT the colors in one by one. I sat and processed, and drank more iced tea and read more magazines. There's no place like home! 9/20/2002

The folks at Devachan not only love their clients, they really like eachother and that seems to be the key ingredient at this salon. The teamwork is so tight and that is why I think the services are so good. Everyone, especially shari takes such good care of me. The first salon I have ever been to for color where they actually ""get it"". Because shari listens, she delivers. She is extremely talented with her hairpainting technique. It has been almost one month since I had my hair cut at Devachan, and since day one I have been getting compliments. No one has ever been able to cut my curly hair in a way that made me happy.. Carlos at Devanchan is THE MAN. This place rocks. It's tranquil, attitude-free, and they REALLY listen to you before they start cutting. If you have curly or wavy hair, there is no other place you should even consider. more

Curly Heaven 8/8/2002

One of the best hair-cutting experiences I have ever had in a salon. Wonderful atmosphere, the BEST scalp and neck massage as you lay back, not sit, at the sink. These folks are experts at cutting curly hair and they have many useful tips and tricks to share as well. Carlos is great and if you are curly-haired and scared/skeptical/jaded/fed-up, try this salon. I left a happy girl. more
