The absolute worst Doctor visit ever. I waited at the desk three minutes while five women sitting at the desk finished their conversation. Then because I didnt have my insurance card..I would have to reschedule an appointment two weeks from the date, until one girl stepped in and said no one is here..we have time to just call Eyemed..Considering they would be getting paid almost $500 from my insurance company...The older lady is the most rudest...She was soo upset that someone helped me....I almost felt like she was trying to personally attack me. I never one to through the race card but this time Im throwing far at Desoto Eye Care. When I got ready to see the Doctor, I told him and he was very apologetic about it. He even went said something to the old hag...Sorry Im upset. I have never wrote a review about any company...BUT STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And besides the customer service...Its been a Whole month and I have not got my glasses back!!!! Beware!!!STAY AWAY..ILL NEVER GO BACK...THE REVIEWS BELOW ARE FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THANKS more

Worest place ever! They were acting like we owe them or something, and want us GONE. It's been a month, they still havn't called us! (They got money from the insurance company the day we ordered contacts). I'm so MAD at them, I hope they will go out of business. NEVER going back to there. more

Don’t use Desoto Eye care on Southaven, MS. This vision center is more like a chit chat at a local book store. The office is neither organized nor even on the same page of what one hand doing. Seems overly compartmentalized to the point of inefficiency. I have been with this group for a few years and my recent visit is my last after the debacles they have caused at each visit and post visit. My visit in 2010 ended with a wrong prescription in my glasses. Not both eyes, only one lens was correct. It took almost a month to get my glasses back. I was given every excuse imaginable; though no one ever stepped up and accepted responsibility or apologized. It was someone else’s fault; the blame game was on. I deal with customers every day and they expect honesty, prompt action and knowing you will take care of any of their concerns. This group lacks the fundamentals to even fathom these characteristics. My most recent visit, 1-18-11, was another failed attempt to get a new prescription for contacts. The atmosphere was much of the same. Not greeted not provided instruction on next steps etc. Trying a new prescription lens option was the choice, though after two days I knew they would not work for me. I called, 1-21-11, and asked to have the new prescription ordered though without the new style contact for my right eye. The attendant stated they would contact the doctor and call me back. A week went by and I had not heard anything. I called on back on 1-26-11 and was told the doctor was out that day and not sure if he would be back that week. I was also told they would contact me Monday, 1-31-11, and let me know the status. No call. I finally got back in touch with someone today, 2-14-11. They told me the prescription was ordered on 2-9-11. I had to review what changes were to be made and I won’t know if they are correct until I get them in a few more days. Again, excuses nor any communication regarding my status. Customer service does not exist with this organization. They cannot facilitate this business and I would definitely not recommend any of their services. Don’t trust them to fulfill your eve care needs. more

They told me 'sign in and go to the waiting room." Being a new patient I didnt know where that was so I had to look around for it since its not up front and no one bothered to tell me. I was overcharged, my credit card was charged wrong, it was so impersonal. When they messed up I didnt even get an apology like they cared. They put the yellow stuff in my eyes to check the pressure. Usually its a puff of air. he didnt tell me what he was doing and put the crap in my eye and wiped the remainder really hard off my eyes. It hurt, I had makeup on and had to return to work with a yellow ring and masacra running around my eyes. The office staff and the doctor are rude. I wont be going back and I'm making sure everyone I know steers clear of that place. Pros: in and out quick Cons: rude, overpriced more

I accompanied my father on his visits when he had his eye surgery. Schaeffer always had an arrogant attitude. When my father would explain his eye problems, Schaeffer would act as if he didn't believe him. Post surgery, my father complained that something was still in his eye. Schaeffer said it must be your imagination. Turns out, a stitch was left in his eye. There have been billing errors as well. The staff screwed up my wife's insurance billing for her contacts, which effected other family members. Her contacts took forever to receive, and the office never called.
