Hair 11/22/2010

Went here for a birthday lunch with work, ordered some chips and salsa for an appit. After a few chips one of the ladys scooped some into a chip and down fell a hair. Mixed in all the salsa was a hair. One of the other ladys ordered and while eating had a cheese wraper in her food. I would never go here or ever tell anyone to go here. Poor service and she added the tip in with out telling anyone. more

Horrible All Around 11/20/2009

I have been in the restaurant business myself for over ten years, and this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a restaurant. When we got there, we had to sit in a certain section of the restaurant based on what we were drinking, even though we weren't sure what the rest of our party (who hadn't arrived yet) was opting for. I asked for separate checks and the waitress responded ""NO"" with no explanation, even though we had multiple people leaving at multiple times. She then provided the worst service I have ever received, going at length to even bump my chair every time she walked past. In the end, she had the audacity to add gratuity to the bill without telling anyone at the table, hoping she would fool us into tipping extra. This not only is discourteous, it should also be against the law to not disclaim additional charges. I will never return and encourage all to follow suit. Cons: All more

Lack of service 1/9/2009

We went on a Friday night, so it was kind of crowded. With our large group and someone under 21 we had to sit on the upper level, not a problem. What became a problem was our waitress. My order was wrong and she took forever with drinks (beer, soda and water). The second problem was our bill. We had a large group and they don't split checks until you pay. Being the last ones in our group to pay we told what we order, paid and then were told there was still money remaining and had to pick up what was left. The cashier didn't have a method for keeping track of what had been paid for by previous members of our group so we didn't know where the mishap happened. Because of this we ended up paying double our bill. When you don't split checks from the beginning you really need to keep track of the bill then as people pay. They were very disorganized and had no explanation except that we owed the rest since we were the last to pay. The food was good and reasonably priced (alcohol seemed over priced $8.50 for a mixed drink), but the bill situation and service lacked. Pros: food, pricing Cons: service, bill handling more

Rare Roast Beef is excellent, many other items can be skipped... 11/21/2007

Try the rare roast beef--it's great. French onion soup is also excellent. However, the daily pasta specials and the quiche both lack flavor. The burger and sandwiches come with chips (no fries?). The staff is friendly and helpful. more

Best Lunch Spot 10/18/2006

The atmosophere and great sandwiches, pastas, and soup are what make this such a great Lunch destination. Pros: Location, Atmosphere, Food more

relax. have a beer & a sandwich 10/8/2005

the food here is excellent, and has always been a good value. i've been eating the rare roast beef on sourdough with french onion soup for 18 years. if you like chain restaurant food with singing waiters and goofy outfits...don't eat here! this is a place to relax and enjoy your meal with good company...this place is for grown-ups, not for adults who need to be entertained like children. Pros: great homebrew!, growlers to-go!, no kids! no whining! more

Stick to the Weeknights 7/19/2005

Like the food, love the patio, love the beer. Now the bad. No host/hostess, seating is a free for all. On a recent Sat night (albeit after sundance) and the place was crowded, not jammed, but full. There were probably 6 groups milling about wondering what to do in terms of finding a table. The waiters finally said sit where you can. After spying a departing group we immediately plopped down at a tale covered in the detritus of the previous group. This was pretty disgusting. The waitress said they had tried hostesses but with three entrances it was too hard to monitor. Come off it put some effort in and you can make it work, show your customers you care. Im sure this is worse on Fri and Sat. So stick to Sun-Thurs. Pros: Good food,, good patio, great beer Cons: no hostess, no hostess, free for all more

This is the best locally brewed beer in town!! Gotta have a Latter-Day Stout. more

I need a bit more 3/25/2003

For me the beer brewed here is pehaps the best on site beer in the valley. The food also is usually excellent (my favorite being the rare roast beef on soughdough w/ french onion soup). No doubt the Pilsner and the Stout are great. And the seasonal beers are often just as good. Unfortunately the atmostphere is lacking. I used to frequent this place when it was only known as ""The Pub (at Trolly Square), and at that time there was quite a lively atmosphere. However, since introducing the ""brewery"" the place has lost it's charm. It could now benefit bigtime from several well placed sports monitors and some friendly (perhaps even attractive) servers. I would be down there a couple of times a week if this were the case! Pros: Beer, Food, Location Cons: Atmosphere, Service more

Worst Service Ever! 1/2/2003

This was, with out a doubt the poorest service i have ever had. After being seated, which took an unusually long time, we ordered our food. Just shy of an hour later it arrived. My drink was only refilled once, and they continually messed up my friends drink. The food was overpriced for the portions; i went home hungry and dissappointed. When we asked for the manager, our cashier became defensive and rude. Claiming it was because they were busy. Watching the people who order after you, eat before you, was a lot of fun. We only waited for our food because of the high recommendation we were given. I was amazed at our server and cashier's attitude towards the problem. I will never eat there again, and would certainly never recommend this restaurant to anyone Pros: good parking Cons: Not Filling, Rude Service, Cramped more

Awesome specials! 11/27/2002

Rare Roast Beef on Rye- My favorite vice 10/8/2002

The Pub is a cool place to hang out. My boyfriend and I will go to get the rare roast beef on rye sandwiches. Delish! Its a cool place because not too many kids usually. So, a more grown up crowd and not too many shrieking infants. Whenever we go, the staff is always friendly and accomodating and our food is always fresh and tasty. Another of our favorite places! moe Pros: good parking, laid back atmosphere, not a lot of kids more

Perfect patio, casual dining 5/14/2002

This is a very comfortable restaurant--great for an after-shopping meal or pre-movie bite. French onion soup is simply delicious. Greek pasta salad is a favorite. The small patio is a great place to perch on a summer evening and enjoy a beer. Pros: Plenty of parking Cons: Crowded patio more
