I grew up in italy (central and northern italy) and i despair of the italian restaurants. Antica Trattoria wasn't bad, Ristorante Ideale was much better, but Delfina takes the prize. The chef is American, but he studied worked in Italy and it shows. I really found his interpretation of italian relationship to food refreshing: ""less is best"" no drowning pasta under sauces, simple, in-season ingredients, ""fave con pecorino"", Farro where delightful finds.
I have to try Merenda and a few others but so far Delfina takes the prize.
