Be careful we did business with this company and they failed to pay their bills to us and bounced checks to us, I don't think it's a very well run organization

There is Deborah's, then there are others... 12/12/2010

My daughters danced here for going on ten years. I have been so very impressed with the quality of the dances, but more importantly, I have been witness to a rare quality. The owner (Deborah Agrusa) has imparted upon her dancers the most important characteristics that can be taught: 1) Hard work pays off and 2) Integrity and character are the overriding values in life. The dancers who graduate from Deborah's have embodied these values in their lives after DSD, and it shows. \r In addition, without compromising the values she espouses, Deborah continues to develop her students by encouraging them to achieve skills well above what they ever thought they would accomplish. The self-confidence these kids achieve is remarkable. She has been accused of being tough. I'd say she raises the bar, for her own students and for dance in general. This studio is not for everyone, but if you have a child who loves to dance, please visit Deborah's Stage Door. You will be better off for it!\r An experienced 'Dance Dad'\r more

Saw them perform... 9/8/2008

Watched DSD over the weekend @ the Art's/Apples Festival. The boy dancers=very entertaining, fun to watch. The girls=seen one dance, seen 'em all (the ""All that Jazz"" number was fun, though) What really bothered me though, was that when the little girls (probably ages 6-11 ish) were dancing they were, ""shakin' what there mama gave them."" The little number they did, I believe it was titled, ""Back to School""...this was very Britney Spears-esq, right down to the costume of a white shirt tied to expose a bare belly & short plaid skirt. Why is it necessary to have girls this young portrayed in this way by a dance studio that's supposedly one of the best around (as promoted & announced several times at this performance)? Parents of these girls are proud of their little girls dancing this way??? I guess it's a matter of personal choice. Furthermore, the spins/turns done by the older dancers were barely up on relive' or demi from what I saw; I wonder how much ballet is incorporated/stressed here? (I saw they have a ballet company). Maybe a little more emphasis on ballet would be beneficial. Overall, I was not blown away by any of the performances I watched. more
