Ok, I have been to several shows there. I go for the music, not to drink in the lounge and be a part of the 'Yuppster Hipster' scene. Denver is a great Jazz city. We have a huge amount of talent in the Denver metro area, much of which gets to play at Dazzle, as well as nationally and internationally known Jazz artists. They tout the whole 'we want to make this Denver's best Jazz listening room', and it is actually Denver's noisiest Jazz listening room on weekends. The lounge area and the showroom are not separated from each other enough, in my opinion. The loud 'Yuppster Hipster' chatter in the lounge bleeds through into the showroom in a big way. This is very annoying! Also many Jazz audience members in Denver do not know how to SHUT UP during a Jazz performance. Live Jazz is to be listened to as an active listener, not as just background music! Unnecessary talking during a performance is obnoxious!
Dazzle's staff is overworked, and frequently slow in getting your order to you. This needs improvement. The food is good, but you often have to wait a while, especially on weekends. The club suffers from a major lack of parking, as it has to share the street and an elevated parking lot with 3-4 other 'Yuppster Hipster' drunkard establishments on Lincoln.
Denver is lucky to have a Jazz club that features Real Jazz 7 nights a week. I just wish Dazzle could improve the service, bathroom cleanliness, sound quality and I also wish the noisy people would shut up!
Pros: Great Real Jazz!
Cons: Lack of parking, mediocre service, noisy lounge,
